About Revel
Revel is the software platform for hardware test and control. Aerospace, defense, robotics, and energy teams use Revel to build control diagrams, stream telemetry, and operate the hardware they're developing.
Location: San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Seattle
The Role:
We’re building a new data platform to add to Revel's current products. The data platform receives, stores, and serves telemetry from our customers' hardware. It helps customers develop and operate their hardware faster and more effectively.
Problems you'll work on:
Powerful analysis in the browser. You will build user experiences which help engineers to interactively explore data on time scales ranging from nanoseconds to years, to compare test events, and to calculate derived channels on the fly.
Performance. You will fight to retain excellent performance despite plotting thousands of series at the same time, having multiple kinds of visualizations on screen, and showing supporting entities like markers in time.
Application state. You will design how to manage application state to support data selection, filtering, calculations, plot layouts, shared views, and much more while keeping the interface and workflows understandable for end users.
What you'll do
Learn how hardware engineers explore and analyze telemetry
Define a vision for an elegant user interface which makes common workflows intuitive while giving expert users powerful tools
Ship and iterate on analysis workflows with hardware engineers
Build data visualization plugins for a variety of use cases (e.g. numeric timeseries, console logs, videos, maps, custom binary viewers, and more)
Prototype and evaluate LLM-assisted analysis workflows with customers.
Work directly with customers to understand their needs, to demo prototypes, and to use customer feedback to guide iteration
What we are looking for
You can build reliable, maintainable frontend applications using React and Typescript.
You can make complex workflows understandable and explain the tradeoffs behind your decisions.
You want to work directly with users and understand the engineering problems behind their requests.
You’ve demonstrated technical depth through something you built—in a job, research, coursework, open source, or an independent project.
Experience with time series visualization, data-analysis tools, or performance-intensive browser applications is a plus.
Who we are looking for
We hire at all experience levels and match the scope of your work to your experience. We care more about what you have built and learned than how many years you have worked. That experience can come from a job, research, coursework, open source, or personal projects.
Why Revel
Work on hardware that matters—your customers build aerospace systems, advanced manufacturing lines, and critical infrastructure
Real ownership—your field work shapes the product roadmap
Competitive salary, substantial equity, and fast personal growth in a deeply technical career
Small, ambitious team where your impact is immediate and visible
Join us to redefine what’s possible in software for hardware.
