                                                                           Front Office

     

Job Summary:

 

Answer all incoming calls, make appointments appropriately for patients, greet and check in patients as they arrive, check all patients out, collect payments, verify insurance. Set up appointments and maintain schedules, with the best customer service possible. Maintain a pleasant working environment for all staff.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Answer and handle all calls politely and professionally
  • Welcome and greet patients and visitors to the office
  • Make, confirm and cancel appointments appropriately
  • Take messages and deliver to the appropriate people
  • Prepare all paperwork and schedules for the next day
  • Check in patients and obtain all necessary paperwork/information
  • Update demographic and insurance information
  • Collect payments
  • Add new patient accounts
  • Retrieve messages and call patients/offices in a timely manner
  • Check faxes and fax necessary billing information and results
  • Enter patient orders, verify patient orders
  • Help facilitate patient flow by communicating with back office and the patients waiting
  • Keep front office work area and patient waiting area clean, organized and presentable
  • Help problem solve patient issues
  • Data entry of all screening mammograms.
  • Monitor and track all follow up mammograms; diagnostic and screening.
  • Requesting previous mammograms and putting jackets together.
  • Print reminder and result letters.
  • Protects patient confidentiality by making sure protected health information is secured
  • Providing personal assistance, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as

co-workers, customers, or patients

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Work Experience:

 

One to three years of experience in general reception work

 

Education Requirements:

 

High School Diploma

 

General Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized and detail oriented. They will provide excellent customer service, have good phone skills and a pleasant phone voice. Must have strong computer skills, be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment all while being able to perform well under pressure. We are looking for someone that can remain calm and effectively handle difficult situations. This position requires you to work independently, apply good judgement and be able to recognize, interpret and evaluate situations and their level of urgency.

Working Conditions:

This position works primarily seated at a desk in a well-lighted, ventilated area. Significant phone work, some walking around office with some light lifting. Travel required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

 

This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week. Expected hours of work may change at any time with or without notice.

 

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This position works primarily seated at a desk or walking around. Located in a well-lighted, ventilated area.
