We are seeking a skilled and motivated Front End Lead to guide the development of user interfaces for our enterprise platform. This role requires a deep understanding of Angular and Redux, with a focus on building secure, accessible, and performant experiences. While UI is the primary focus, experience with backend Java systems (Spring Boot, JBoss) and hybrid frameworks like Ionic is a strong plus. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure UI architecture aligns with broader technical goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
UI Architecture and Development
Lead the design and development of scalable, maintainable UI components using Angular, Typescript, and Redux.
Establish and enforce UI coding standards, architectural patterns, and best practices.
Build accessible and secure interfaces that meet WCAG and OWASP standards.
Optimize performance across modern browsers and devices.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with product managers, UX designers, and backend developers to deliver end-to-end features.
Translate business requirements into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
Backend Collaboration & Integration
Collaborate with backend engineers on RESTful APIs, microservices, and data integration strategies.
Contribute to backend development in Java environments (Spring Boot or JBoss) as needed.
Support end-to-end testing and performance validation across the full stack.
Mentorship & Leadership
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to UI engineers.
Maintain high quality code through peer reviews and design discussions.
Drive adoption of modern tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing strategies across the stack.
Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks and areas of technical debt.
Performance & Monitoring
Implement and maintain frontend observability using tools like Sentry, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), and OpenTelemetry.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to UI performance and stability.
Collaborate with backend and DevOps teams to ensure comprehensive tracing and monitoring.
Identify performance bottlenecks in Angular applications and drive continuous improvements.
Lead incident triage and root cause analysis for frontend-related production issues.
Build and use dashboards and alerting mechanisms that are actionable and noise-free.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Liaise with engineering, security, and business teams to align solutions with strategic goals.
Engage with end users to understand pain points, gather feedback, and iterate on improvements.
Provide leadership in vendor evaluation, technical workshops, and solution reviews.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in front-end development using Angular with TypeScript.
Deep understanding of modern TypeScript, reactive programming, and state management (e.g., Redux or NgRx).
Proven ability to build accessible, secure, and performant web applications.
Experience collaborating with users and stakeholders to identify issues and improve UX.
Solid experience integrating with RESTful APIs and backend systems.
Familiarity with backend services in Java environments (Spring Boot, JBoss).
Strong problem-solving skills and a user-first, product-focused mindset.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionality.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Experience with hybrid mobile frameworks such as Ionic.
Understanding of cloud-native deployment models and observability.
Experience developing mobile or hybrid apps using Ionic.
Familiarity with enterprise authentication systems such as Okta or JWT.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum practices and experience working in distributed teams.
