This position entails joining the Academic Web Services team within Grand Canyon Education to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable front-end components and libraries that power enterprise applications. Academic Web Services is a collaborative team passionate about web development, accessibility, and building innovative solutions using modern frameworks and AI-assisted tools.
Must reside in Arizona.
What you will do:
Design, build, and maintain responsive, accessible, and reusable front-end components
Translate design files and brand systems into scalable, maintainable code libraries
Build cross-browser, cross-platform solutions adhering to WCAG accessibility standards
Collaborate with designers and engineers to deliver high-quality interfaces and applications
Leverage AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) for prototyping and development
Manage updates in no-code/low-code platforms produced by our design team
Contribute to documentation, peer reviews, and internal component libraries
Ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining performance and accessibility standards
Stay current with modern frameworks, tools, and emerging AI-assisted workflows
What you will need:
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., Svelte, React)
Familiarity with design systems, component-based architecture, and reusable code patterns
Experience with Git/version control workflows
Ability to translate Figma or design tokens into responsive, scalable components
Familiarity with no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Webflow, Figma)
Experience using AI-assisted development tools in a workflow
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
A portfolio, GitHub, or project links with code samples

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field preferred
1+ year of experience developing web interfaces or contributing to design systems
Must provide a portfolio or GitHub with code samples or live project links
