JOB DESCRIPTION:
CARSTAR, North America’s largest multi-shop operator (MSO) network of independently owned collision repair facilities, is seeking a Director of Development to help accelerate our growth. This role is responsible for expanding the CARSTAR network by engaging independent collision center operators and MSOs, guiding them through the process of joining our franchise system, and ensuring they are set up for long-term success.
The ideal candidate will have direct, hands-on experience owning or running a collision repair facility, a strong understanding of the collision industry, and the ability to take a consultative approach with prospective franchise partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify, cultivate, and secure new franchise partners, including independent shop owners and regional MSOs.
- Consultative Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to shop operators, clearly communicating the benefits of CARSTAR’s network, systems, and resources.
- Pipeline Management: Drive leads from initial contact through signed franchise agreements, collaborating with operations, legal, and onboarding teams.
- Market Expansion: Develop and execute strategies to target high-priority markets and growth opportunities.
- Relationship Building: Represent CARSTAR at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build strong relationships in the collision repair community.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, marketing, integration) to ensure seamless onboarding and transition for new franchisees.
Qualifications
- Required: Previous ownership, general management, or senior leadership experience within a collision repair center or MSO.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of shop operations, financial drivers, and growth challenges.
- Proven consultative selling or business development skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Preferably based in the Central U.S. for ease of travel (50%).
