Gamesight empowers the industry’s top game makers through data, technology, and experiences.

Gamesight builds technology to help kickass games find commercial success. We do this by empowering game publishers with data so they can better understand their community, players, and game performance. We specialize in Measurement & Attribution, Influencer Activations, Creator Programs, and Creator-Led Playtests, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each game at every stage of its lifecycle.

Gamesight is a fully remote, 55-person performance marketing company powering some of the biggest game launches in the world. We need an experienced, fractional HR generalist who can step in immediately, own the operational core of our HR function, and build the systems and automations that make it run better than it did before.

This role is perfect for someone who treats a disconnected HR system like a Satisfactory factory mid-playthrough: you inherited someone else's spaghetti belts, nothing is labeled, and half the machines are backed up. You need the patience to trace it backward, the vision to rebuild it right, and the discipline to actually finish before starting the next thing.

You'll have a direct line to Jess (Director of Operations) and full admin access to our HR stack from Day 1. We expect you to find broken things, fix them, document what you did, and tell us what to do next. If you're a fractional HR operator who thrives on cleaning up systems and building repeatable infrastructure, and you're available to start in one or two weeks, we want to talk. We’re estimating about 15 hours/week with some spikes during open enrollment, onboardings, etc. We’d love this person to commit to 6 months as a starting place, and we’ll go from there!

Hours: ~15 hrs/week (variable; spikes during open enrollment and onboarding)

Comp: $60-80/hour based on experience

Location: Remote, North America

What You'll Do

Payroll & HRIS

  • Learn end-to-end payroll processing in Rippling and be a back-up for the Finance team - multi-state FTE and PTE US employees, international contractors, EOR employees via Remote, and variable comp inputs across a growing headcount.
  • Audit & manage Rippling as the system of record: employee records, role changes, org structure, P&L class assignments, and pay band maintenance.
  • Flag and resolve tax compliance issues proactively; coordinate with Finance on payroll inputs and reconciliation.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer benefits and equity programs across the full lifecycle: day-to-day employee questions, enrollments, changes, and carrier coordination across HUB International, Navia (HSA/FSA), Simon365, Carta, Vestwell (401k) and other vendors and partners.
  • Own the bi-weekly HSA manual upload in Navia - and build a system to make it less painful.
  • Lead September open enrollment planning with HUB; ensure all carrier relationships are documented and accessible.
  • Resolve carrier support tickets.

Compliance

  • Own E-Verify for all new US hires.
  • Manage state registration tracking and filing workflows; we're mid-transition from Mosey to LegalZoom.
  • Monitor and respond to state and federal compliance obligations (tax notices, wage/hour, workers' comp via AmTrust, and any audit items in progress).
  • Assist the Director of Operations on Secureframe SOC2 compliance posture and flag anything that needs attention.

Systems & Automation

  • Audit the current HR tech stack and identify what's redundant, broken, or missing - then propose a cleaner architecture.
  • Build or improve automation workflows in Rippling and connected tools to reduce manual work on recurring tasks (payroll inputs, onboarding checklists, offboarding access revocation, etc.).
  • Document every recurring HR process in Tango or equivalent.
  • Identify where AI tooling can reduce admin load and implement it where appropriate; we use Anthropic/Claude internally and are actively building AI workflows.
  • Serve as the first line of communication for team members at Gamesight who need help with Rippling, employment verification letters, or are just having issues accessing tools, etc.

Recruiting & Onboarding Support

  • Provide lightweight recruiting coordination support for active open reqs (usually one open position at a time) - candidate comms, scheduling, pipeline tracking in Rippling.
  • Ensure onboarding logistics (equipment, tool access, paperwork) are covered for any new hires during the engagement by tagging in the appropriate partners.
Who You'll Work With
  • Jess Leonard, Director of Operations - your primary point of contact; weekly sync, async Slack for day-to-day; you operate independently between check-ins.
  • Anna, Controller - payroll inputs, and Abby, Staff Accountant - Brex reconciliation
  • Jennifer, Legal Ops - employment contracts, contractor agreements, and any escalated employee matters.
  • JenB, Merch & Events - employee experience touchpoints.
  • All Gamesight employees - you'll be fielding HR questions directly; responsiveness and discretion are both required.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience, with at least 1 year in a fractional, consulting, or multi-client capacity. 🎯
  • Deep, hands-on Rippling (or similar) experience at the admin level - not just as a user, as the person who builds and fixes workflows. 🔧
  • Multi-state payroll expertise, including experience handling tax compliance issues and flagging discrepancies before they become problems. 📊
  • Benefits administration fluency: open enrollment, carrier coordination, HSA/FSA administration, 401k, etc. 🤝
  • Demonstrated systems-builder - you've walked into broken HR infrastructure before, diagnosed it, and left it better. Give us examples. 🏗️
  • Strong documentation habits - you write SOPs, Tango guides, and runbooks that others can actually follow. 📋
  • Heavy AI user with genuine judgment about its limitations - you use AI to accelerate your work, and you know exactly when to verify the output. 🤖
  • Excellent async communication: you default to written updates, you don't let things go dark, and you surface problems proactively. 💬
  • Non-negotiable discretion - comp, equity, performance situations, and confidential employee matters from the first week. 🔐

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Remote (EOR platform) for international employee management. ✨
  • A genuine love of video, tabletop, and/or trading card games and enthusiasm for the gaming industry. 🎮
  • Located in Boise, Idaho. 🥔

Success in 15/45/90 Days

Days 1–15 Triage & Ownership:

  • Complete a full audit of Rippling, Navia, Simon365, Vestwell, and all other carriers/vendors - document what's current, what's broken, and what's missing.
  • Resolve outstanding tickets/issues.
  • Complete the first HSA upload cycle and documented the process.
  • Deliver a written system audit with a prioritized list of fixes and automation opportunities.

Days 15–45 Build:

  • At least three recurring manual workflows have been converted to automated or semi-automated processes.
  • All recurring HR processes are documented in Tango or written SOPs - nothing lives only in your head.
  • Open enrollment kickoff with our broker is scheduled, and prep is underway.
  • Active open reqs in Rippling have ownership; candidate pipelines are moving.
  • Shadow our Finance team on Payroll and be ready to run it in a pinch.

Days 45–90 Steady & Ready:

  • Deliver a written recommendation on the future state of the HR function at Gamesight.
  • All systems documented to the point that a capable People Ops hire could take over any workflow with a one-hour briefing.
  • A compliance calendar for the next 12 months has been built and is accessible to Jess.
