RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the design and implementation of FPGA architectures using VHDL/Verilog.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Participate in simulation and verification of designs to ensure functionality and performance.
- Support the integration and testing of FPGA solutions in development environments.
- Document design processes and maintain clear communication with team members.
- Engage in continuous learning and development of your technical skills.
- Drive requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test for electrical designs.
- Perform system-level integration of electrical subsystems, including hardware and software interfaces.
- Perform first article testing, unit level testing, and production testing.
- Support hardware through production, integration, and launch.
- Work with experts from other teams and departments to drive changes that make the system more efficient, manufacturable, and reliable and to ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance processes.
- Define validation approach and create development and qualification testing campaigns to exercise designs to their limits and ensure reliable hardware.
- Develop and maintain documentation for electrical systems and components, including design specifications, test plans, and operating procedures.
- Participate in all aspects of the product development lifecycle, from concept and requirements definition to product release and post-release support.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog.
- Familiarity with digital circuit design principles.
- Understanding of simulation tools such as ModelSim or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Internship or project experience in FPGA design.
- Exposure to software development in languages such as C/C++ or Python.
- Knowledge of schematic capture programs (Altium preferred).
- Familiarity with hardware description languages (HDL) and FPGA development tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).
- Familiarity with common bus protocols (e.g. SPI, I2C, USART).
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $95,000-$125,000
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance.
- Work Location: this role will be hybrid work in Los Angeles, CA.
- Work environment is in a standard office, working at a desk or in a production factory.
- Physical demands may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20lbs.
