Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Flight Engineering Manager to lead the Flying Qualities & Autonomy team within the Vertical Lift Division. This senior leadership role is based in Ridley Park, PA, and supports the broader Vertical Lift Flight Technology team.
The successful candidate will drive engineering excellence in rotorcraft flying qualities, stability and control, and flight controls design through all phases of the lifecycle of our product line.
Position Responsibilities:
10% of travel may be required for this role.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Flying Qualities & Autonomy engineering team, overseeing technical activities related to rotorcraft flying qualities, stability and control, flight controls design, wind tunnel testing, and flight testing.
- Develop, implement, and execute integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals and technical strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight, including approval of engineering approaches, products, and processes.
- Manage resources effectively, including supplier technical management and continuous process improvements.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Mentor, develop, and motivate team members to achieve high performance and professional growth.
- Participate hands-on in solving complex technical challenges related to handling qualities and flight control systems, ensuring innovative and effective solutions.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in rotorcraft flying qualities or rotorcraft flight controls.
- Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of rotorcraft stability & control and handling qualities.
- Expertise in rotorcraft control laws design, analysis, requirements, and testing.
- Experience with flight simulation analysis, tool development, and maintaining flight simulation/integration laboratories.
- Hands-on experience with wind tunnel and flight testing of rotorcraft.
- Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) engineering organizations such as NAVAIR, TDD, SRD, etc., including their capabilities, practices, and resources.
- At least 3 years in a management or technical lead engineer role.
