About Teamshares

Teamshares is a technology-enabled acquirer of small and midsize businesses. We buy companies with $0.5 million to $5 million in EBITDA, integrate them with our platform, and help employees become owners. Founded in 2019, we operate 90+ subsidiaries with approximately $490 million in consolidated revenue across 40+ industries and 30 states.

The Role

We're looking for a Financial Systems Lead to own the financial-systems strategy and execution across our network of companies. You'll design and implement ERP solutions, evaluate financial-systems tools and platforms, advise leadership on technology investments, and ensure each company has the systems and processes to manage its own finances effectively.

This is an individual contributor role focused on strategy, design, and hands-on execution. You'll work directly with company finance teams and implementation partners, troubleshoot technical problems, establish best practices, and build the financial-systems foundation that enables our companies to operate independently.

You'll have significant influence over how we approach financial systems across the network. As we grow, you'll build and lead a small team. We're looking for someone who can handle the immediate hands-on work while growing into broader leadership of this function.

About two-thirds of our network uses QuickBooks Online. We have several companies on NetSuite and others on industry-specific platforms. You'll think strategically about the entire financial-systems landscape, not just one platform. You'll evaluate payment processors, sales tax software, accounting automation, and specialized tools as the need arises.

Responsibilities

Financial-Systems Strategy & Platform Selection: Help leadership evaluate and decide which financial platforms are right for which companies. Make recommendations on QuickBooks Online vs. NetSuite vs. industry-specific ERPs. Build a long-term vision for standardization across the network. Evaluate new tools and technologies as opportunities arise.

Implementation Leadership & Design: Work with implementation partners and company finance teams to design and execute ERP transitions. Make recommendations on configuration vs. customization vs. process change. Ensure implementations deliver real business value and companies can operate independently.

Financial-Systems Standards & Governance: Establish best practices and standards for financial systems across the network. Define how we handle common financial scenarios: multi-subsidiary accounting, intercompany transactions, reporting structures, tax compliance. Document these approaches so they scale.

Vendor & Partner Collaboration: Work as a peer with implementation consultants and technology vendors. Evaluate their recommendations and proposals. Challenge over-engineered or unnecessary solutions. Support leadership with technical assessment of partners and vendors.

Problem-Solving & Technical Leadership: When companies encounter financial-systems challenges, you're the escalation point. Diagnose problems, work with partners and vendors to find solutions, and make recommendations. Roll up your sleeves on troubleshooting and hands-on work as needed.

What We're Looking For

7-12 years of experience in ERP implementations, financial-systems leadership, enterprise accounting, or related fields.

Deep hands-on knowledge of Netsuite and practical experience with other financial-systems tools.

Strong judgment about financial-systems architecture. You can evaluate trade-offs between different platforms, vendors, and approaches. You make decisions based on what the business actually needs.

Experience evaluating and advising on technology vendors and solutions. You can assess whether a vendor's proposal is sound and spot over-engineering.

Comfortable working with ambiguity and in growing organizations. You're not constrained by perfect upfront planning and can adapt as circumstances change.

Able to communicate clearly with different audiences: finance teams, implementation partners, technology leaders, and business executives.

Willing to be hands-on. You're an individual contributor who troubleshoots problems, reviews implementation details, and supports execution directly.

Nice to Have

You have led ERP implementations or modernization initiatives for companies with multiple subsidiaries or complex financial needs.

You have experience as a financial-systems consultant, solution architect, or in-house finance technology leader.

You have evaluated and managed multiple financial-systems platforms and tools.

You have a background in financial operations, corporate accounting, or finance technology.

You have hands-on expertise in NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar cloud platforms.
