Job Description
The Financial Analytics Lead Consultant - Risk is responsible for executing and managing projects in support of Allstate’s Property Liability (PL) Risk and Return objectives. The Property Liability Risk and Return Management team plays an integral role providing analytic support to understand and optimize our risk and return profile. Key areas of work involve developing underwriting risk scenarios to assess economic capital requirements, completing reinsurance analytics to support capital management, consulting with business partners on risk and return tradeoffs, and transparent risk reporting to Senior Leaders and the Board.Key Responsibilities- Work closely and collaboratively with data scientists to estimate, aggregate, and allocate economic capital at the enterprise level, across the firm’s entire portfolio of risks and businesses
- Implements strategic change, department results, and operational effectiveness
- Develops innovative solutions and systems to support strategic business unit objectives
- Assist in supporting chief risk officers, risk organizations and other business areas to evaluate risk-return tradeoffs and assess risk-return implications of strategic and operating plans
- Support the application of foundational risk and return principles to new or ambiguous business situations to help set direction and evaluation framework where a blueprint for success may not already exist
- Work closely and collaboratively with data scientists to understand and implement non-siloed, cross-disciplinary methodological solutions to complex, non-textbook business challenges
- Ability to incorporate a comprehensive, holistic view of risk and return that effectively captures multiple internal and external perspectives
- Plan, implement, manage, and/or contribute on projects that are moderately to highly complex and are of moderate scale using accepted project management standards, this work is primarily self-directed
- Leverage understanding of insurance business, products, markets, regulatory environments, and risk & return principles in the creation of business strategies and decisions, building expertise within a specialized area
Functional Skills:
- Focused ability to ramp up quickly and succeed in working on tasks that lack clear definition
- Ability to provide clear, incisive communication that summarizes technical information in an easy to understand format is critical
- Experience in finance, applied statistics, econometrics or similar field a plus
- Experience coding in a major statistical/econometric/programming language (e.g., SQL, SAS, R, MATLAB, Python, C++) a plus
• 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience• 5 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Compensation offered for this role is $76,200.00 - 134,550.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
