Overview
The Financial Analyst supports the SVP of Financial Planning and Systems in the achievement of DLH's financial goals. The Financial Analyst is responsible for enhancing the organization’s awareness and understanding of financial performance, financial scenario planning, and measuring the impact of management decisions on financial results.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of the annual operating plan, resource planning analysis, and rolling forecast updates.
- Support Long Range Forecasting for strategic decision making.
- Develop financial plans and forecasts that align with business financial and strategic objectives.
- Participate in the financial forecast, annual budgeting, corporate management reporting, and variance analyses processes.
- Provide executive-level ad hoc financial analysis and decision support.
- Analyze trends across revenue, cost, expenses, and capital; clearly communicate findings to leadership.
- Partner with Accounting on the close process, financial reporting, and financial statements.
- Promote adherence to monthly close calendar; drive continuous process refinements.
- Support ad hoc projects and help define process & systems improvements.
- Enhance and/or define reporting requirements to support business operations.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support the company's strategy.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in business, accounting, management, economics, or related
- Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of government contracting experience
- Must possess knowledge of financial management and budget development processes.
- Strong analytical skills, compliance focus, and financial systems knowledge.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
Basic Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000 yearly salary
The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. We do not use salary history to determine compensation, in line with applicable law.
