The Finance Manager will report to the FP&A Director and will work closely with the Shared Service Division Leaders, Finance Business Partners, and Chief Finance Officer. This role will serve as an integral member of the Finance and Administration (F&A) team and will orchestrate the accounting function for the Shared Service Divisions along with development of ad hoc analysis and reporting.

Detailed Description:

This role will partner with the Shared Service Division Leaders to deliver outstanding financial services to the team, providing monthly financial reporting to several cost centers. Important aspects of this position include helping the Shared Service Division Leaders make informed business decisions, projecting costs; forecasting; and analyzing trends. In addition, the role will support the FP&A Director with ad hoc analysis and reporting across Brown and Caldwell, supporting adoption of consistent finance processes across Brown and Caldwell.

As the key financial liaison for the Shared Service Divisions, the Finance Manager will facilitate the annual budgeting and forecasting process and work with the FP&A Director to develop the company annual business plan. The role will ensure that the Shared Service Division Leaders are well informed on costs incurred by their divisions, providing monthly reporting, insights and variance analysis.

What you do:

  •  Provide guidance and support to Shared Service Division Leaders as a strategic business partner, providing insight and helping operational partners identify and address financial opportunities and risks.
  •  Influence decision-making by establishing objectives and designating resources effectively.
  •  Lead the development and implementation of advanced financial processes and technologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and fiscal accountability to enable operational excellence.
  •  Leverage and analyze data and synthesize information to help leaders see trends and make informed and effective business decisions.
  •  Translate strategic and tactical business plans into operational and talent strategy plans that align to overall BC strategy. Drive value added services within shared services.
  •  Carry out strategic partnership initiatives to promote collaboration and sharing of best practices.
  •  Partner with leaders on business strategy and strategic planning, utilizing data to understand needs of the business and assess what value-added impact F&A can provide to the business.
  •  Identify financial opportunities and conduct trend analysis to enhance financial performance.
  •  Offer solutions to problems and maintain the financial health and stability of the assigned functional areas of the business.
  •  Build visibility and maintain strong relationships with shared services teams and functional leaders with interdependent leadership.
  •  Drive consistency across enterprise groups, business units/regions and shared services and influence leaders to break down silos.
  •  Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
  • Demonstrate effective change management and communication strategies that align with business needs.
  • Understand and evaluate issues from multiple perspectives including those of business unit(s) in order to provide sound recommendations and creative solutions.
  • Anticipate issues and problems and proactively address them before they become a hindrance to the business.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on internal and external best practices.
  • Partner with members of the F&A team to develop, maintain and execute company policies.
  • Support ensuring company is compliant with financial laws & regulations.
  • If working remotely good/reliable internet connection and ability to work productively is required. 
  • Occasional travel may be required (0-20%). 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred) or equivalent work experience. 
  •  6-8+ years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting or finance required.
  •  Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  •  Experience within the environmental engineering or consulting industry preferred.
  •  Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  
  •  Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. 
  •  Ability to demonstrate experience successfully collaborating cross-functionally within a matrixed/enterprise business model.   
  •  Experience implementing autonomous processes and/or AI preferred.
  •  Experience with Power BI tools, Adaptive, and other accounting software preferred. 
  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. 

 

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future. 

Location A: $88,000 - $120,000 

Location B: $97,000 - $132,000 

Location C: $105,000 - $144,000
