About FrostCarbon

At FrostCarbon, our vision is a world where AI, industry, and the global grid run on carbon-free energy.  Our mission is to enable a reliable, decarbonized energy future by delivering the only resilient, efficient, and truly scalable carbon capture solution.  We live our values: champion the mission, start from first principles, choose respect, and explore the possible.  We are a lean, dedicated team where each team member owns a critical function. This role will serve as FrostCarbon’s finance steward, working directly with the CEO to ensure strong financial clarity, controls, and reporting as we execute our mission.

The Role

The Finance & Controller Lead will own day-to-day accounting and provide the reporting and analysis needed for leadership and the Board. You’ll manage the essentials while also maintaining the three-statement model that connects FrostCarbon’s story for investors and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly close, reconciliations, and internal reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain a 3-statement financial model (income, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Build and update budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Prepare clear reporting packages for the CEO and Board.
  • Oversee Sage (ERP) and ADP (payroll) processes.
  • Manage contracts, grants, and cost tracking.
  • Oversee payroll, A/P, and A/R, with outsourced bookkeeping support for data entry.
  • Implement financial controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Support option tracking and equity reporting; experience with Carta is a plus.

About You

  • CPA (or CPA-track), or strong accounting/finance background.
  • Solid grasp of three-statement accounting and how financials interconnect.
  • 2+ years of accounting or finance experience (public accounting, corporate, or startup).
  • Experience with Sage and ADP strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to equity management systems (Carta or similar) a plus.
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented; equally comfortable posting transactions, balancing accounts and explaining the numbers.
  • Responsive, reliable, and collaborative.
  • Excited to work onsite in Arvada with a mission-driven team.

Compensation & Growth

  • Cash: $65–85K base salary.
  • Equity: Stock options.
  • Growth: Direct partnership with the CEO and exposure to the Board; opportunity to grow as FrostCarbon scales.
