Who we are

Typeform is a refreshingly different form builder. We help over 150,000 businesses collect the data they need with forms, surveys, and quizzes that people enjoy. Designed to look striking and feel effortless to fill out, Typeform drives 500 million responses every year—and integrates with essential tools like Slack, Zapier, and Hubspot.

About the Team

You’ll join a small but mighty Accounting & Controlling team at a pivotal moment in our journey.

The function is evolving fast — with a strong mandate to future-proof our accounting environment, strengthen controls, and build scalable processes that support a global SaaS business.

You’ll work side-by-side with the VP of Accounting & Controlling, acting as a trusted partner in both day-to-day execution and ongoing transformation. Together, you’ll help bring structure, visibility, and resilience to the finance function.

About the Role

As a Finance Controller at Typeform, you’ll be at the heart of our accounting and controlling operations — ensuring that the fundamentals run flawlessly while helping us level up how we work. You'll act as a trusted second-in-command to the VP of Accounting & Controlling, combining operational rigour with the technical depth to protect the business and support its next phase of growth.

Typeform faces increasing multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction accounting and tax complexity. This role exists to provide the specialist oversight and hands-on execution to ensure we stay ahead of that curve — from GL integrity and revenue recognition to indirect tax compliance and international expansion support.

Things you will do:
  • Own and execute core accounting and controlling processes, including month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Partner closely with the VP of Accounting & Controlling, providing hands-on support across day-to-day operations and key initiatives
  • Act as a reliable right-hand in ensuring continuity, accuracy, and consistency across all accounting activities
  • Take ownership of indirect tax compliance across our operating jurisdictions — including VAT/GST, digital services taxes, and evolving nexus obligations
  • Manage transfer pricing documentation and intercompany frameworks as we expand into new markets
  • Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance across our subscription and usage-based billing models
  • Support audit preparation and execution, working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support entity structuring and local compliance setup as we enter new countries
  • Identify opportunities to build in-house tax and accounting expertise, reducing reliance on external advisors
  • Help improve and document financial processes, controls, and workflows
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline, automate, and scale accounting operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and other teams to ensure alignment and clarity
What you already bring to the table:
  • Proven experience in accounting, controlling, or auditing within a fast-paced technology environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS preferred)
  • Solid grasp of revenue recognition standards, particularly in subscription or usage-based models
  • Hands-on experience with indirect tax (VAT/GST) compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Familiarity with multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction accounting frameworks
  • Proven experience with month-end close and financial reporting
  • A hands-on mindset with the ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions
Extra awesome:
  • Experience in a SaaS or tech environment
  • Experience with transfer pricing or international tax structuring
  • Exposure to digital services taxes or SaaS-specific tax complexity
  • Background in audit (Big 4 or similar)
  • Exposure to finance transformation or process improvement initiatives
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
