Job Overview:
We’re seeking a Financial Controller to be the backbone of our financial operations and a strategic partner in our expansion. This is more than a traditional accounting role—you’ll shape financial strategy, optimize operations, and help steer Alabaster toward sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership: Oversee all accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency.
- Strategic Planning: Develop financial models, forecasts, and budgets to guide business decisions and long-term growth.
- Cash Flow & Risk Management: Monitor cash flow, debt, and investments while implementing strong internal controls.
- Inventory & Demand Planning: Work closely with operations to optimize inventory levels and resource allocation based on sales trends.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to state/federal regulations, manage tax filings, and coordinate external audits.
- Team Development: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Executive Collaboration: Partner with leadership to align financial strategy with company goals, providing insights for new initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role (startup or e-commerce experience a plus).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax compliance, GAAP, and inventory management.
- Proficient in Netsuite, Excel, and financial modeling; familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, etc.) is ideal.
- A strategic thinker who can translate numbers into actionable business insights.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about Alabaster’s mission and values; comfortable working in a faith-based setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in inventory management, cost analysis, and pricing strategy within e-commerce.
- Familiarity with digital marketing ROI analysis and customer acquisition cost optimization.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA is highly desirable.

- The expected salary range for this position is $94,000 to $118,000 per year, depending on experience.
