Job Title: Finance & Administration Lead (Director Track) – DM Vans

Location: Rifle, CO (On-site preferred; hybrid/remote considered)

Requirement: Must be located in Colorado

Job Type: Full-time

Role Overview

The Finance & Administration Lead (Director Track) at DM Vans is a high-impact role built for someone with upside—a hands-on finance operator who wants to grow into full director-level ownership. This role leads the financial health and administrative backbone of the business and oversees the core functions of Finance, HR, and IT, ensuring they work together to support a stable, scalable, EOS-driven organization.

You will own the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting; ensure accurate and efficient AR/AP and payroll; provide financial insights and scenario analysis to guide strategy; uphold compliance and internal controls; and support HR, office administration, and IT so the rest of the team can focus on building and selling Lifestyle Vehicles®.

Importantly: our current Director of Finance & Administration has stepped back into a fractional role and will be available for training, mentorship, and oversight as the new hire ramps and grows into full director-level ownership.

This role reports directly to the President.

Core Values

At DM Vans, our values shape our work and our relationships with our team and customers:

  • Assertive and Open-Minded at the Same Time: Encourage open communication, confident decision-making, and the ability to listen and adapt.

  • Self-Aware: Demonstrate an understanding of personal strengths and areas for improvement, fostering personal and professional growth.

  • Ambitious: Continuously strive for excellence, both in individual performance and company-wide objectives.

  • Authentic: Lead with sincerity and genuine care for both team members and customers.

  • Not Assholes: Cultivate a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment where kindness and collaboration thrive.

Key Responsibilities

1) Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting (Finance)

  • Develop and own annual and quarterly budgets, aligned with EOS tools (10-Year Target, 3-Year Picture, 1-Year Plan, Rocks).

  • Build and maintain forecasts and financial models (including scenario analysis) to support strategic decision-making and risk assessment.

  • Monitor cash flow, margins, and key financial metrics; recommend actions to protect and improve financial health.

  • Partner with the President and Leadership Team to translate financial insights into clear operational decisions and priorities.

2) AR/AP, Payroll & Core Financial Operations (Finance)

  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and cash timing.

  • Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing (via Gusto or similar) and proper accounting for wages, benefits, and taxes.

  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal control in daily financial operations.

  • Maintain a reliable month-end close process and support clean, audit-ready financial records.

3) Financial Insights, Modeling & Strategic Guidance (Finance)

  • Produce clear, recurring financial reports (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, variance analysis) for the Leadership Team and Owners.

  • Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate key strategic decisions (pricing, inventory, headcount, capital projects, debt structures, etc.).

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the President—bringing data-driven perspectives on growth, risk, and tradeoffs.

  • Support banking/lender needs through transparent communication, reporting, and performance tracking.

4) Compliance, Controls & Risk Management (Finance)

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial, legal, and regulatory requirements (taxes, reporting, employment-related obligations, etc.).

  • Design and maintain internal controls, policies, and SOPs that protect company assets and ensure data integrity.

  • Support risk management strategies, including insurance coverage and mitigation plans in partnership with ownership and advisors.

  • Ensure accurate and compliant RV sales paperwork (billing, titling, registration, financing, etc.) in collaboration with Sales and Operations.

5) HR Support & Administration (HR)

  • Provide leadership oversight for HR, ensuring strong practices in recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, employee records, and basic employee relations support.

  • Support benefits management (health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO policies) with HR support staff and external vendors as needed.

  • Ensure HR practices align with employment laws and company policies while reflecting DM Vans’ Core Values.

  • Maintain clear HR processes (onboarding/offboarding checklists, documentation standards, handbook updates in partnership with HR).

6) IT Oversight & Systems Support (IT)

  • Provide leadership oversight for IT, ensuring core tools and systems support day-to-day operations (Odoo, Google Workspace, Gusto, and other business applications).

  • Partner with the IT & Facilities Specialist to align IT priorities with Finance, Operations, Sales, CX, and HR needs.

  • Promote strong IT fundamentals: access controls, MFA/password policies, backups, and simple, documented workflows.

  • Ensure technology investments align with budget, scalability, and risk management goals.

7) Office & Facilities Administration (Admin)

  • Oversee office and facilities administration at 6 Powerline Rd., ensuring a safe, functional, and productive environment.

  • Align facilities spending and projects with financial plans and company priorities.

8) Leadership, Management & Accountability (LMA)

  • Help drive an EOS-style operating cadence within Finance/HR/IT: clear ownership, repeatable processes, and accountability.

  • Build simple scorecards for Finance/HR/IT and help leaders get the data they need to run effective L10s.

  • Maintain clean handoffs and communication across departments, bringing clarity and calm execution to complex situations.

Reporting & Performance Metrics

You’ll help DM Vans track and improve:

  • Budget Adherence: Spending aligned with approved budgets; clear variance analysis.

  • Financial Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness: On-time monthly close and leadership reporting with minimal corrections.

  • Cash Flow Management: Stable/improving cash position and predictable cash runway.

  • Operational Efficiency (Finance/HR/IT/Admin): Reduced manual work, clearer processes, and improved team satisfaction with support functions.

  • System Efficiency & Adoption (IT): Reliable use of Odoo and core tools; improved data quality and usability.

  • HR Metrics: Employee satisfaction with HR processes and benefits; timely completion of onboarding and other HR processes.

  • Risk & Compliance: Clean filings, minimal compliance issues, appropriate insurance and internal controls.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).

  • 3+ years in a finance, accounting, or business operations role with increasing responsibility; experience in small to mid-sized businesses is a plus.

  • Strong competency in budgeting, forecasting, AR/AP, and financial reporting; comfort building models and doing scenario analysis.

  • Comfortable working with ERP/financial systems (Odoo preferred) and supporting tool adoption across teams.

  • Working knowledge of HR and IT fundamentals (benefits/payroll coordination, basic compliance, systems access/security best practices).

  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities with strong follow-through.

  • Clear communicator who can translate financial insights into practical decisions for non-finance teammates.

  • Familiarity with EOS/Traction is a plus, or willingness to learn and operate within EOS.

Who You Are

  • You’re a builder: you like taking messy finance/admin realities and turning them into simple, repeatable systems.

  • You’re hands-on and humble—willing to do the work while building toward ownership and leadership.

  • You see patterns quickly and enjoy creating structure: processes, checklists, dashboards, and “this is how we do it at DM Vans.”

  • You’re hungry to grow into a bigger seat and you take feedback and coaching seriously.

  • You embody DM Vans’ Core Values—assertive and open-minded, self-aware, ambitious, authentic, and not an asshole.

Compensation & Growth

  • Base Salary: Starting at $90,000 (DOE).

  • We’re open to two profiles:

    1. a proven finance leader who can run this seat now, or

    2. a high-capability hands-on finance operator ready to grow into full director-level ownership

  • Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and 401(k).

  • Employee Ownership: Eligible for the DM Vans employee-ownership program, sharing in long-term success.

  • Career Path: Clear path to grow into Director of Finance + Administration, with expanded scope and compensation as systems stabilize and the company scales (with ongoing mentorship from the fractional Director during ramp).

Physical Requirements & Work Location

  • On-site is preferred at 6 Powerline Rd., Rifle, CO, with regular presence to stay closely connected to operations, leadership, and the team.

  • Hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for the right candidate, but the role requires consistent availability for on-site meetings and key operating rhythms.

  • Must be located in Colorado.

  • Primarily office-based work, with periodic collaboration in an active shop/production environment.

  • Ability to move between office and warehouse areas, attend on-site meetings, and review physical operations as needed.

This Finance & Administration Lead (Director Track) role is critical to building a strong, stable foundation across Finance, HR, and IT at DM Vans. We’re looking for someone with real upside—someone who wants to learn fast, own the details, and grow into a leadership seat that keeps the business healthy while the rest of the team builds incredible vans and an even stronger community.
