About the Role:

Vercel is looking for a Senior Field Enablement Engineer and Technical Trainer with a strong background in JavaScript and modern web development. This role is focused on developing and delivering technical training to our field teams, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to communicate the value of the Vercel platform to our enterprise customers. Collaboration with our Product and Engineering teams will be key to keeping training materials current and relevant.

Preference will be given to candidates in the following locations: SF Bay Area, PST time zone

What You Will Do:

  • Develop training content and programs specific to the needs of the field team, focusing on Vercel’s platform and products.
  • Deliver training sessions that are informative and practical, ensuring field team members can apply what they learn in customer engagements.
  • Create resources such as knowledge guides, case studies and best practice job aids to support the field’s ongoing development.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to stay up-to-date with product developments and reflect these in the training programs.
  • Assess the impact of training on field performance and adapt programs as needed.
  • Partner with Sales Engineering leaders to represent the field team’s feedback to our Product and Engineering teams to inform future product improvements.
  • Support field teams in the development of value engineering strategies to support the sales and renewals process.

About You:

  • You are committed to the continuous learning and development of field teams, with a focus on enhancing their technical sales capabilities.
  • Your strength is in distilling complex technical information into clear, actionable content for non-technical audiences.
  • You have experience managing training programs, creating content, and meeting the dynamic needs of a field team.
  • Your technical skills are grounded in practical experience, ideally from a background in software development or technical sales.
  • You’re knowledgeable about the broader tech ecosystem and can incorporate this into training for a well-rounded perspective.
  • Your experience includes a focus on web performance and understanding of network architecture and security.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a role involving technical training or enablement for a field team.

Bonus If You:

  • Have direct experience with deploying Next.js applications.
  • Have worked on teams using Kubernetes to host Next.js applications.
  • Hold certifications such as Cloud Solutions Architect.
  • Have a Sales Engineering Background
  • Have familiarity with industry standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2 from a technical standpoint.
  • Have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $132,000.00 - $198,000.00.  This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be  adjusted based on employee location.  The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your location during the hiring process.
