Summary
The Specialist, FHA Claims is responsible for the filing of all FHA Part B claims and all non-conveyance claims including CWCOT (Claims without Conveyance of Title), SFLS (Single Family Loan Sale) claims and all Loss Mitigation claims including PFS (Pre-Foreclosure Sale) Claims, Partial Claims, SFB (Special Forbearance) incentive claims, Loan Modification incentive claims and HAMP claims. In addition, follow up on all claim payments, title package submission to HUD and monitoring for approval or extension as needed within investor/insurer timeframes. It is essential these functions are handled as timely as possible within established requirements to minimize all associated losses.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor attorney firms to ensure that all title packages are submitted timely or ensure extension to HUD is requested as needed within investor/insurer timeframes.
- File all Part B expense claims within insurer/investor timeframes
- File all non-conveyance claims including CWCOT, SFLS and loss mitigation claims within investor/insurer timeframes.
- Follow-up daily/weekly on all outstanding claim proceeds
- Work to resolve all exceptions on suspended claim funds
- Monitor daily reports and queues
- Ensure Manager is kept informed of all trends and issues including, but not limited to FHA claim curtailments, loss mitigation denials.
- Plan and schedule work so that it can be performed effectively and efficiently to reduce costs where possible by improving methods and processes
- Complies timely and accurately with instructions provided by Manager. If unable to meet a deadline, the deadline must be renegotiated prior to the initial deadline date.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University preferred; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
