Position Summary

Bodwé Group is seeking two Project Managers to support the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) within Indian Affairs (IA), serving the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), and Bureau of Trust Funds Administration (BTFA). In this role, you will play a pivotal part in strengthening financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and enterprise coordination for programs serving 575 federally recognized Tribes and nearly 1.9 million American Indian and Alaska Native people.

These Project Managers will operate across all OCFO divisions to enhance visibility, streamline workflows, support modernization efforts, improve data consistency, and strengthen compliance with federal financial management standards. The role involves integrating cross‑division priorities, identifying operational risks, facilitating issue resolution, supporting audit readiness, and helping advance OCFO’s emerging AI‑readiness and automation initiatives.

This position sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and innovation—ideal for candidates who excel in program management, analytics, workflow optimization, and enterprise coordination. Working closely with leadership and technical teams, the Project Managers will help drive consistency, increase transparency, and support OCFO’s mission to deliver high‑quality, compliant, and efficient financial services across Indian Country.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Program Integration
• Coordinate activities across multiple financial divisions and ensure aligned execution of priorities.
• Maintain visibility of workflows, risks, milestones, and dependencies for leadership.
• Lead cross-division planning sessions and ensure clear, consistent communication.
• Support audit preparation and major reviews by aligning data and deliverables across divisions.

Issue & Risk Management
• Identify workflow bottlenecks, delays, and coordination gaps across divisions.
• Analyze issues using data and system reports, recommend solutions, and track resolution progress.
• Escalate unresolved issues and assess cross-division impacts to prevent operational and compliance risks.
• Support divisions in implementing corrective actions and process improvements.

Data Analytics & Reporting
• Build dashboards and reports that highlight performance trends, workload distribution, and key metrics.
• Use analytics to identify inefficiencies, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to support leadership decision-making and audit readiness.
• Ensure data integrity and develop automated reporting tools to reduce manual workload.

AI Readiness & Automation Support
• Identify processes suitable for automation or AI-enabled enhancements.
• Document current-state workflows and propose future-state improvements.
• Recommend appropriate AI tools and assist in designing and testing automation pilots.
• Track AI opportunities and support workforce readiness, ensuring alignment with federal standards.

Workflow Standardization & Process Improvement
• Map current workflows to identify friction points and inconsistent practices.
• Recommend streamlined, standardized processes and update SOPs, templates, and workflow documentation.
• Integrate low-code tools (Power Apps, SharePoint workflows, automation) to reduce manual steps.
• Ensure workflow changes support audit requirements, compliance needs, and enterprise systems.

Cross-Division Coordination
• Serve as a central coordination point for initiatives, policy updates, audits, and modernization activities.
• Facilitate working groups and meetings; track actions and ensure follow-through.
• Consolidate division inputs for enterprise reporting, modernization, and audit deliverables.
• Promote shared awareness of deadlines, risks, and major initiatives.

Executive Reporting & Communication
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational updates for leadership.
• Prepare executive-ready dashboards, briefings, memos, and risk summaries.
• Ensure all communication is accurate, timely, and aligned with leadership priorities.
• Support leadership engagements and strategic reviews with clear, actionable information.


Education, Experience, and Technical Skills

Required Education, Experience, and Technical Skills

  • A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong skills in data analytics, dashboard development, visualization, workflow mapping, and turning operational data into insights for leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps and developing automated dashboards, workflows, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to identify and document AI and automation use cases, including process mapping, future-state design, and pilot development.
  • Solid understanding of federal process improvement, cross-functional operations, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with enterprise financial systems (FBMS, S4HANA, SharePoint) and integrating data across large organizations.
  • Experience standardizing workflows, developing SOPs, and supporting continuous improvement in a federal or large enterprise setting.
  • Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking, problem solving, risk management, and resolving complex multi-division challenges.
  • Ability to operate independently as a sole PM across multiple divisions, managing competing priorities and cross-agency initiatives.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and executive briefing skills, with experience preparing reports, dashboards, memos, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Experience facilitating working groups, cross-functional meetings, and liaison activities with contracting officers, financial specialists, and system administrators.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, timely results with strong stakeholder satisfaction and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting audit readiness, modernization efforts, and AI adoption in a federal or enterprise environment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Real ID or Passport in order to undergo commercial airfare travel
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license

Preferred Education, Experience, and Technical Skills

  • Experience supporting Indian Affairs or similar federal agencies.


Working Environment

This position operates in a professional office setting. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and photocopiers. The work environment is generally quiet and free from exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, or heavy machinery. Employees are typically seated for extended periods and may occasionally move about the office to attend meetings or access equipment and supplies.


Physical Demands

Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary, performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment, including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, and copiers.

Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access the required technological equipment.

Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper, moving equipment, and managing cords.

Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptops, mice, keyboards, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, and copiers.

Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information.

Seeing: This role requires seeing, viewing, and distinguishing all aspects of internal and external communications.

Carrying/Lifting: This role requires lifting up to 20lbs to transport technological office equipment to and from various workspaces.

Home Office Connectivity Requirements for Hybrid & Remote Positions

To ensure reliable collaboration, client service, and secure access to company systems, the Company requires minimum connectivity standards to be eligible or remain eligible to work in a hybrid or remote capacity. Employees working remotely must maintain broadband internet service capable of consistently supporting video conferencing, VPN connectivity, and cloud-based applications. Hybrid or remote work eligibility may be reassessed if connectivity standards are not met. This includes:

 

  • Wired broadband service (cable, fiber, or DSL) with at least minimum 100 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload
  • Some positions may require minimum 200-300 Mbps download / 25-35 Mbps upload speed

 

Cellular hotspot or fixed wireless cellular services (e.g., T-Mobile Home Internet) may not be used as a primary connection. The Company will comply with all local, state, and federal requirements as it relates to the reimbursement of home internet expenses. Eligibility for reimbursement of home internet expenses is defined in a separate policy.
