What We Offer

  • Compensation – We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation programs. We offer a competitive hourly rate based on education level and qualifications, as follows:

    • Undergraduate students: $25.00/hour

    • Graduate students: $29.00/hour

    • Ph.D./JD students: $37.00/hour

  • Hybrid work option Staff will be assigned to one of our offices, including: Washington, DC (Headquarters); Ashburn, VA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX office or location. Staff can choose to live and work from anywhere within the United States but will be required to commute to their assigned office or location for occasional intentional gatherings or meetings at the frequency required by their supervisor. Travel to an assigned office or location for commuting purposes will not be considered reimbursable business travel, unless otherwise required by state law. Business travel is reimbursable in an amount not exceeding the cost to travel from the assigned office or location, unless otherwise required by state law.

Role Summary

The PCAOB has a full-time position for a Graphic Design Intern in the Office of Communications and Engagement in its Washington headquarters office. This intern will provide design as well as some website and communications support to the Office of Communications and Engagement team in preparing publications, website, and outreach related to the oversight of auditors of public companies and broker-dealers. Intern will have exposure to all facets of communications and outreach work in a regulatory setting. Intern will support the presentation of consistent visual branding and style.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, layout, and preparation of key materials to support the PCAOB mission

  • Help to produce shareable content for print and digital use

  • Assist with the design and release of key announcements

  • Provide assistance in the use of social media platforms and website content management

  • Brainstorm on how to visualize complex auditing concepts and issues

  • Conduct research and analysis of design, communications, and style ideas

  • Draft and update Board communication materials, platforms, and databases, requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

Education/Technical Expertise/Skills and Abilities

  • Undergraduate (junior or senior level) or graduate student, studying graphic arts

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, as well as Adobe Premier Pro or Adobe After Effects for video

  • Experience supporting websites through content management system (CMS) platforms such as Sitefinity and SharePoint is a plus

  • Proficient in social media platforms

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Word

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Must be reliable and self-motivated

  • Must be organized, and able to meet deadlines

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
