The candidate demonstrates proven execution of a full scale production program through excellent risk assessment, outstanding leadership, and strong decision making with solid analysis skills. The PEM provides technical responsibility and leadership to cross-functional teams through the production, fielding, and support of the system. The PEM represents the technical team to project managers, functions, and executive leadership, and provides responsibilities for developing the overall technical solution for a product or system. The PEM is the decision authority between the Chief Engineer and engineering team and is responsible for developing the overall technical solution for the system. The PEM is expected to influence the design, development, test and verification. In addition, the PEM is responsible for identifying and communicating technical risks and opportunities between the operations team, Chief Engineer and program management team.
The PEM will provide technical stewardship of the engineering effort for the Digital IPT ensuring the solution meets customer programmatic and technical requirements within the allocated engineering cost and schedule.
Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be a leader of leaders to support the F35 production Digital modules.
  • Partner with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer and functional staff to support Operations for hardware deliveries that meet our customer needs.
  • Coordinate the engineering team to work closely with the operations team to implement solutions to improve product test yield and through-put.
  • Provide support to the production engineering lead for proposals - BOE creation, IDRs, and Phase Reviews.
  • Partner and collaborate across all the disciplines, functions, operations and business areas to effectively support the digital modules in production.
  • Identify and support the development of critical skills and resources to build the bench for the PEM and Chief Engineer roles.
  • Develop and maintain measures related to engineering performance, and present dashboards and metrics to Program and Business area management.
  • Ensure proper application of process based on the size and complexity of the project.
  • Establish and maintain goals, performance standards, budgets and staffing plans for the engineering function.
  • Develop and manage execution projects and return to green plans, tracking and reporting on status and making sure the team has the resources required for success.
  • Coordinate and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities for timely resolution of issues.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Requires qualified candidates to hold an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a special access clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and Minimum 10 years of technical leadership experience and capabilities relevant digital designs and architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong team building skills that enable partnership and coordination within and across teams and functions.
  • Ability to form a vision and implement action plans to achieve that vision


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Control Account Management (CAM) experience


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
