JOB SUMMARY

Deeply Digital, LLC is a communications, construction, and consulting company in Montrose, Colorado serving entire western slope. Its sister company, Clearnetworx, provides ISP services to the surrounding region. Our entire team represents the company on the front lines, and all members work as a team to fulfill the needs of our customers. The Excavation Support person is a laborer who performs a variety of manual tasks outdoors in all weather conditions; including digging, laying conduit, helping with machinery, etc. This is all done while working in a safe and effective manner.

EXPERIENCE

Staff hired into this position may have previous experience in underground utility repair or installation, and they must be able to demonstrate their ability to perform the Essential Duties/Responsibilities listed. The duties are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and may not include other nonessential or peripheral duties that may be required. Deeply Digital retains the right to modify duties of the position at any time based upon the needs of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform manual labor and excavation outdoors in a variety of weather conditions using tools such as shovels, picks, and rock bars;
  • Assist with laying conduit for fiberoptic cable;
  • Work around heavy equipment (excavators, hydrovacs, boring machines, etc.) and perform duties to support the Heavy Equipment Operators;
  • Take directions from the site supervisor and team leads and efficiently execute work requested;
  • Load materials and perform site set-up and clean-up;
  • Restore and landscape disturbed areas of the job site;
  • Follow all project policies and procedures in a safe, efficient, and effective manner;
  • May need to safely and correctly direct multi-directional traffic with appropriate signage;
  • Keep alert and aware of surroundings and working hazards, wearing hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, approved safety footwear, and seat belt.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Colorado driver's license and clean driving record;
  • Be flagger certified or able to gain flagger certification for directing road traffic;
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, excellent customer service, and great “people skills” with a team orientation;
  • Dependable, self-motivated, responsible, and punctual, including consistently at work and on time;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Clean and professional appearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to or over 100 lbs;
  • Climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects;
  • Load and unload tools and equipment on trucks;
  • Coordinate movement of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet;
  • Most work is outdoors, subject to inclement weather.
