As an Associate in ESG, you will have the opportunity to gain a broad understanding across ESG reporting and disclosure landscape while operating with a Control mindset. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to firmwide policies and standards for our team's automated solutions fulfilling reporting requirement. As a Financial Controller, your primary focus will be to maintain a strong control environment promoting early detection of operational risk for our ESG Reporting and Controller Team. Through strong partnership with business, operations and technology, your role will include understanding of all ESG-related reporting, its procedure, methodology and associated tools, systems and automated solutions to deliver our team's reporting responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design effective controls across ESG voluntary and regulatory reporting process
- Perform analysis to identify gaps in controls, determine root cause for the deficiencies
- Work alongside key partners to establish and enhance control procedures to govern reporting activities
- Lead meetings with key stakeholders as appropriate to ensure compliance with firmwide Policies / Standards.
- Monitor the annual review status of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop understanding of ESG voluntary and regulatory reporting landscape and assist in its production adhering to firm's internal and external financial reporting policies
- Assist in departments special projects or components of broader projects as needed
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 5+ years financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance
- Demonstrated understanding of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate the adequacy of the business control environment
- Experience in external reporting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, controller or business/risk analytics
- Working knowledge on business intelligence tools such as Alteryx, Tableau etc.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience creating/presenting a concise story to senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative, to prioritize and accurately complete multiple tasks, and to work under deadlines and changing priorities in order to drive results
- Self-learner, results-oriented and focused on the big picture with superior attention to details.
