At Vatica Health, cloud computing is a critical driver of our technology strategy, enabling us to modernize infrastructure, automate operations, strengthen security, and accelerate innovation. We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Platform Engineer V to serve as the senior-most individual contributor within our Infrastructure organization, responsible for defining and driving the enterprise cloud architecture that supports our rapidly growing business.
This role is responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, implementation, and continuous evolution of large-scale, multi-cloud environments across Azure and AWS. As the senior-most individual contributor within Infrastructure, this role defines the enterprise cloud architecture, independently driving strategic technical decisions, leading the organization's most complex infrastructure initiatives end-to-end, and designing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms that support Vatica Health's long-term growth and innovation.
The ideal candidate is a recognized technical expert with deep knowledge of cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, networking, security, and emerging platforms. They possess a proven ability to solve complex technical challenges, influence architectural decisions across the organization, and mentor senior engineers while elevating engineering standards and best practices. As a technical leader, this individual will serve as a force multiplier for the Infrastructure team, partnering closely with Engineering, Security, and Product leadership to ensure our enterprise platform remains resilient, efficient, and prepared for future innovation.
From day one, this individual will have a significant impact on the scalability, reliability, and security of Vatica Health's technology ecosystem while shaping the long-term cloud strategy that supports the organization's continued growth.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end cloud architecture decisions across AWS and Azure, including multi-account AWS environments (Control Tower, cross-account networking, resource sharing, IAM structures) and the existing Azure footprint, with minimal ramp-up time in a multi-cloud environment.
- Lead technical execution on major infrastructure initiatives independently, without requiring architectural supervision; most immediately, the Google Workspace → Microsoft 365 migration (group/permissions reconciliation, dependency remediation).
- Design and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) at scale across a rapidly growing set of repositories and environments, setting patterns other engineers build against.
- Own cross-cloud networking: transit routing, VPC endpoints, cloud-to-cloud peering, load balancer/health-path configuration, and multi-region connectivity.
- Serve as a senior technical resource and mentor for Engineer II/III-level staff; a force multiplier, not a peer requiring equivalent mentorship.
- Support the organization's compliance posture (HITRUST/SOC2, HIPAA) from an infrastructure perspective; access controls, logging/monitoring, and secure architecture review.
- Engage credibly with external architecture stakeholders (security, compliance, vendor architects) at a level reflecting the program's maturity.
- Participate in on-call/incident response for high-priority infrastructure issues.
Requirements
- 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure/platform engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of cloud architecture decisions (not just execution against a given design).
- Deep, hands-on expertise across both AWS and Azure in a multi-cloud enterprise environment.
- Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives (e.g., large-scale migrations, multi-account cloud buildouts) independently and end-to-end.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience at scale (Terraform preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and act as a technical escalation point for less senior engineers.
- Experience operating in a regulated/compliance-driven environment; healthcare (HIPAA) or HITRUST/SOC2 experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Requirements:
- Direct HITRUST or SOC2 audit-support experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Key Vault/secrets management, and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace administration or migration projects.
- Experience with Sentinel/MDR or comparable SIEM tooling.
- Background in M&A technical integration (environment convergence, tenant/directory merges).
- DevOps/CI-CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps or equivalent).
Competencies:
- Communicates Effectively
- Exchanging ideas, knowledge, and data so that the message is received and understood with clarity and purpose.
- Leverages emotional intelligence to adapt to the emotions and intentions of others.
- Action Oriented
- Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

- Researches the root cause of problems and collaborates with multiple sources to solve them.
- Business Insight & Organizational Savvy
- Ensures work and tasks are aligned to meet company priorities.
- Breaks down goals into actions with milestones.
- Understands how to navigate the company and connect with key stakeholders or contributors.
- Situational Adaptability & Flexibility
- Adapts approach in real time to respond to different situations.
