What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and/or support major network and network security projects to support new initiatives, capacity, life-cycle management, upgrades, new products and/or features, and integration in unclassified environments
- Work in an all Cisco technology-based network that includes Cisco Catalyst 9K switches, Catalyst 8K routers, Nexus ACI/NXOS data center switches, ASA/Firepower firewalls, web proxies and network authentication
- Provide technical leadership for enterprise network security and core networking on classified and unclassified networks
- Create and maintain documentation for network using Netbrain or Microsoft Visio
- Optimize stability, availability, reliability and performance of network and network services
- Coordinates and communicates ongoing tasks with other teams for infrastructure updates, and customer notifications.
- Interfaces with user community to understand needs and designs and implements solutions to accommodate them
- Collaborates with other infrastructure teams in the architecture governance process. Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate
- Tracks industry trends, conducts research, and maintains knowledge of new technologies to provide the organization with optimal solutions
- Operates Strategically to ensure that our classified and unclassified networks and related services are available to our users 24x7x365 by following industry best practices and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network related issues
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for IT Network Engineer Staff III:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with 10 years of professional experience
- Extensive experience working with Cisco ASA & Firepower Firewalls with complex configurations
- Experience working with Nexus data center switches, fabric interconnects, and UCS servers in NXOS environment
- Experience working with Cisco ISE, 802.1X and RSA SecurID
- Experience with configuration & management of DNS/DHCP enterprise services
- CompTIA Security + CE (SY0-601 or SY0-701)
- This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the IT Network Engineer Staff IVinclude:
- 15 years of professional experience
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE Certification
- Experience troubleshooting and configuration of Cisco IWAN or SD-WAN designs.
- Experience working and troubleshooting EIGRP and BGP routed network deployments.
