Superlanet is seeking a Data Engineering Manager for our healthcare client in Texas. This Enterprise Data Engineering & Platform Manager will lead a highly visible enterprise data engineering function supporting healthcare analytics, AI/ML initiatives, enterprise data modernization, and cloud platform strategy across a large multi-institution healthcare and academic environment. This is a direct hire, remote opportunity with periodic travel; Texas-based candidates are highly preferred.
This role requires a strong blend of technical leadership, enterprise architecture experience, healthcare data knowledge, and stakeholder management capability. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with complex organizational dynamics and enterprise-scale data initiatives.
Enterprise Data & Platform Leadership
- Lead enterprise data engineering and platform modernization initiatives across clinical, operational, financial, and research environments
- Define architectural roadmaps, governance standards, and long-term platform strategy
- Support AI/ML enablement, Azure cloud initiatives, and enterprise analytics modernization
- Oversee scalable data pipelines, enterprise integrations, and cloud-based analytics ecosystems
- Evaluate and implement modern technologies to improve scalability, performance, and operational efficiency
- Manage ETL/ELT pipelines and modern orchestration frameworks
- Support enterprise data lake, warehouse, and analytics platforms
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, analytics, and application teams on enterprise integration strategies
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance across hybrid and cloud environments
- Support healthcare analytics initiatives involving Epic, OMOP, interoperability, population health, and clinical data integration
- Partner with clinical, operational, and analytics stakeholders to align data initiatives with organizational priorities
- Lead data mapping, governance, and healthcare data standardization efforts
- Lead and mentor a blended team of FTEs, contractors, and consultants
- Provide technical leadership while managing evolving stakeholder expectations
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across technical, operational, and executive leadership groups
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business-focused communication
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and enterprise governance standards
- Support enterprise data governance, metadata management, lineage, and security initiatives
- Partner with compliance and security teams to maintain scalable governance frameworks
- 10 years of experience in data engineering, enterprise data architecture, or analytics platforms
- 2 years of technical leadership experience within complex enterprise environments
- Healthcare industry experience required
- Strong experience with Azure cloud technologies and modern data engineering ecosystems
- Experience building enterprise-scale data platforms and architectural roadmaps
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Spark, Kafka, or Airflow
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Experience operating within large, multi-entity enterprise environments
- Experience with Epic Systems, OMOP, healthcare interoperability, or population health initiatives preferred
- Exposure to AI/ML initiatives, advanced analytics, or enterprise modernization programs
- Experience supporting large academic medical centers or multi-institution healthcare environments preferred
- Master’s degree in a related technical or healthcare field preferred
