Envitia is a UK-based software and services company that helps organisations unlock the full value of their data to make better, faster decisions. With over 30 years of experience, we specialise in delivering innovative software products, solutions, and consultancy services that transform complex data challenges into actionable insights.

Our mission is to empower customers across defence, government, and national security sectors to harness the power of data — from geospatial intelligence to advanced analytics and AI integration. We are proud to be a trusted partner to UK defence and government organisations, delivering technology that drives smarter, data-driven outcomes.

We’re also delighted to have been named one of The Sunday Times Top 100 Medium-Sized Companies to Work For 2025 — a recognition of our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and creating an outstanding workplace where people can thrive.

The Role

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and leading our consulting offering across key Central Government and Defence clients. In this role, you will define and establish enterprise-level business and technology architectures, along with the governance frameworks needed to ensure their effective adoption and evolution.

Using your architectural expertise and a strong focus on delivering tangible business value, you will develop strategic visions, roadmaps, and target state architectures that guide large-scale transformation initiatives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to align technology direction with organisational goals, ensuring solutions are both practical and impactful.

Beyond architecture design, you will take ownership of driving end-to-end enablement, leading the introduction and rollout of business and technical capabilities tailored to client needs. This includes overseeing the full lifecycle of solutions, from early ideation and strategy through to transition and delivery, ensuring long-term value and sustainability.

 Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Strategy & Alignment: Define and implement enterprise architecture strategies that align business goals, processes, and technology.
  • Architecture Leadership: Lead the design and delivery of business and enterprise architecture frameworks and solutions to address complex client challenges.
  • Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce architecture governance to ensure alignment with organisational standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Road mapping & Transformation: Develop and maintain multi-year technology roadmaps, using Target Operating Model (TOM) expertise to drive scalable, efficient operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to shape and deliver innovative, value-driven solutions within transformation programmes.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide guidance, best practices, and leadership across business, technical, and enterprise architecture domains.

Experience Required

  • Enterprise Architecture Expertise: Proven experience in enterprise and business architecture within a consulting environment, delivering enterprise-scale solutions. Strong knowledge of frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), business capability modelling, and integration strategies.
  • Operating Model & Governance: Demonstrated ability to design and implement Target Operating Models and establish effective enterprise processes, governance, and controls.
  • Technical Breadth: Experience across multiple architecture domains (business, application, data, technology), with familiarity in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration approaches (APIs, SOA, microservices).
  • Tools & Methods: Proficiency with architectural modelling tools (e.g. ArchiMate, Sparx or similar).
  • Consulting & Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence at all levels, build strong relationships, and deliver high-impact outcomes in complex environments.

Security Clearance Requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SC level security clearance.

Location

The role will require travel to our Horsham offices 2 days a month as well as travel to customer sites in the UK when required.
