Candescent is hiring a Mobile Enterprise Architect to lead the evolution of our mobile and frontend architecture within a modern, cloud‑native FinTech SaaS platform. This role will define and drive the architectural vision for our mobile-first, React‑based ecosystem, ensuring our applications are scalable, secure, resilient, and optimized for enterprise and consumer financial use cases.
A core priority of this role is unifying multiple banking and financial products into a cohesive mobile and frontend platform, leveraging shared React and React Native architectures, reusable components, and standardized integration patterns. This will enable faster delivery, consistent user experiences, and seamless interoperability across products, partners, and platforms.
This person will provide hands-on architectural leadership across mobile, frontend, API, and platform teams, ensuring tight alignment between mobile experiences, backend services, and enterprise systems—including core banking platforms, fintech partners, and third‑party providers.
Key Responsibilities and DeliverablesMobile & Frontend Architecture Strategy and Vision
  • Define and drive end‑to‑end mobile and frontend architecture strategy with a focus on scalability, performance, security, accessibility, and resilience in regulated financial environments
  • Lead the modernization and consolidation of mobile and web applications into a shared React.js and React Native architecture with reusable design systems and component libraries
  • Champion mobile‑first and API‑first design principles, ensuring seamless integration between React applications and enterprise backend platforms
  • Establish architectural standards for state management, navigation, authentication, offline support, performance optimization, and cross‑platform consistency
  • Design secure and scalable frontend integration patterns for fintech partners, third‑party SDKs, and core banking systems
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to embed AI‑driven personalization, analytics, and intelligent user experiences into mobile and web applications
Platform, API, and Developer Experience Enablement
  • Collaborate with enterprise and platform architects to ensure mobile and frontend architectures align with backend, API, and cloud strategies
  • Define and enforce standards for API consumption, GraphQL/REST integration, error handling, observability, and telemetry from mobile and frontend clients
  • Elevate developer experience through shared tooling, CI/CD pipelines, documentation, onboarding standards, and mobile release automation
  • Ensure mobile applications meet financial services security, privacy, and compliance requirements, including secure authentication, data encryption, and auditability
  • Evaluate and introduce AI‑assisted development tools to improve frontend and mobile productivity, testing, and quality
Product Design, Delivery, and Technical Leadership
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts including mobile solution blueprints, reference architectures, dependency maps, and design specifications
  • Partner with Product Managers and portfolio leadership to align mobile and frontend architecture decisions with business outcomes and customer experience goals
  • Provide hands‑on technical leadership through design reviews, mentoring senior engineers, and guiding complex React and React Native implementations
  • Establish and enforce frontend and mobile engineering standards, coding guidelines, and architectural best practices
  • Proactively identify and manage technical debt, performance risks, scalability concerns, and cross‑platform dependencies
DevOps, CI/CD, and Operational Excellence
  • Define and evolve mobile and frontend CI/CD strategies, including automated testing, build pipelines, and app store deployment processes
  • Partner with DevOps, SRE, and Security teams to ensure reliable releases, observability, incident response, and operational health for mobile platforms
  • Drive automation across build, test, release, monitoring, and rollback processes for React and React Native applications
  • Ensure frontend and mobile solutions align with SRE principles, availability targets, and resilience standards
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in mobile and frontend architecture within enterprise or SaaS platforms
  • Strong hands‑on experience with React.js and React Native, including large‑scale, production‑grade applications
  • Proven experience designing shared component libraries, design systems, and cross‑platform architectures
  • Experience integrating mobile and frontend platforms with API‑first, cloud‑native backends
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for frontend and mobile, including GitHub, Jenkins, or cloud‑native build tools
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), containers, and Kubernetes‑based architectures
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, multi‑tenancy, and event‑driven architectures as they relate to frontend and mobile consumption
  • Hands‑on experience enabling AI/ML‑driven user experiences or AI‑assisted development workflows
  • Familiarity with financial services and banking integration standards (e.g., Open Banking, FDX, ISO 20022)
  • Strong understanding of security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements in financial services
  • Automation‑first mindset with a passion for performance optimization and developer productivity
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across Product, Design, and Engineering teams
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide high‑performing mobile and frontend engineering teams
