Strategic Technology & Portfolio Group 

The Strategic Technology & Portfolio Group drives predictability, growth, and efficiency by integrating technology strategy, portfolio management, and operational execution. We enable scalability while balancing global consistency and regional flexibility, ensuring local execution aligns with corporate strategy. 

Our team oversees strategic portfolio management to align investments with business objectives, project portfolio management to drive efficiency and deliver results on time and within budget, and oversight and optimization to enhance governance, streamline processes, and improve performance tracking. By creating a structured and adaptable foundation, we empower the organization to scale effectively, operate efficiently, and drive continuous innovation.  

Position Overview

This role will be based in: Denver, CO and follows our flexible work policy (e.g., hybrid with 2 days on-site).  

The Data Architect plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and governing enterprise data architecture! This role ensures data integrity, accessibility, security, and strategic alignment with business needs. This role will define data policies, governance models, and data management frameworks to optimize data usability across the organization!  

As a key leader in our data strategy, this individual will work with business leaders, technology teams, and external partners to ensure that our data assets support enterprise-wide initiatives, from analytics and reporting to regulatory compliance and digital transformation.

Essential Job Functions

Data Strategy & Governance  

  • Develop and communicate data architecture policies, standards, guidelines, and governance frameworks.  

  • Establish processes for governing the identification, collection, storage, and use of corporate metadata to ensure accuracy and consistency.  

  • Ensure data strategies and architectures comply with regulatory requirements.  

  • Define data stewardship and governance models to promote data quality, integrity, and lifecycle management.  

Technology Leadership  

  • Assess, recommend, and implement data management technologies, tools, and platforms to support business intelligence and analytics.  

  • Be responsible for data security, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.  

  • Ensure successful enterprise-level application rollouts (ERP, CRM, SCM, SAP, etc.) from a data perspective.  

  • Direct research and evaluation of emerging data technologies, industry trends, and standard processes.  

Business & IT Alignment  

  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand data-driven requirements and align technology investments with business goals.  

  • Provide guidance on data trade-offs, risks, and opportunities that influence enterprise data strategy.  

  • Work with project teams to ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise objectives while balancing scalability and security considerations.  

Solution Design & Oversight  

  • Develop data models, standards, and frameworks for structured and unstructured data across business functions.  

  • Ensure conceptual completeness of technical data solutions and their business relevance.  

  • Oversee data lineage mapping, data movement, integration, and analytics to maintain data quality and usability.  

  • Address data-related systems integration, interoperability, and multi-platform compatibility challenges.  

Collaboration & Communication  

  • Partner with engineering, business intelligence, and IT teams to create a cohesive data ecosystem.  

  • Act as a leader and advocate for data management best practices, including coaching, training, and career development of staff.  

  • Provide executive-level presentations to communicate data strategy, priorities, and progress.  

Job Requirements

Education & Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.  

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data governance, or database management.  

  • Experience leading large-scale enterprise data initiatives, including data warehousing, data modeling, and data analytics platforms.  

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) and data security frameworks.  

  • Experience with cloud and on-premises data technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, SQL, NoSQL, Big Data, ETL, Data Lakes, Data Warehousing).  

  • Strong experience in metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data governance standard processes.  

Skills & Competencies  

  • Expertise in data modeling, database design, and data architecture principles.  

  • Proficiency with ETL tools, data integration, and API-driven architectures.  

  • Strong knowledge of BI and analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, etc.).  

  • Strategic thinking and ability to align data initiatives with business goals.  

  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills.  

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.  

Travel Requirements  

  • Travel required up to 5% but may vary based on business needs.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $160,000 - $170,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
