Enterprise Account Executive
Remote, US — Northern California or Pacific Northwest preferred | Sales | Full-time
Vespa.ai is expanding its enterprise sales team in the United States. We’re looking for a results-driven Enterprise Account Executive to develop and close new business, grow existing customer relationships, and help organizations already using open-source Vespa evaluate Vespa Cloud.
You’ll own the full sales cycle and work closely with technical and business stakeholders throughout the customer relationship. If you have a proven track record of selling technically complex platforms to large technology companies and consistently exceeding quota, we’d like to hear from you.
About Vespa.ai
Vespa.ai is a Norwegian company building Vespa, the Apache 2.0-licensed open-source platform for applying AI to big data in real time at scale.
Vespa was developed at Yahoo, where it powered search and recommendation systems at massive scale for more than a decade. It comes proven in production, not just in benchmarks.
Vespa combines vector search, lexical search, and structured search in a single query, with machine-learned inference for ranking and retrieval-augmented generation. Today, Vespa powers large-scale applications at many companies, including Perplexity, Spotify, DuckDuckGo, and Wix.
We also operate Vespa Cloud, our managed service for teams that want to run Vespa in production without managing the underlying platform themselves — and we offer Vespa as licensed software for teams that prefer to run it on their own infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Own an enterprise territory across Northern California or the Pacific Northwest, assigned based on your location and market opportunity.
- Prospect, qualify, and close net-new customer opportunities.
- Help organizations already using open-source Vespa evaluate and adopt Vespa Cloud.
- Lead the full sales cycle — discovery, demos, business case, technical evaluations, negotiation, and close — working with solution engineering along the way.
- Build your own pipeline through outbound, and work inbound and product-qualified opportunities.
- Own the commercial relationship from first sale through expansion and renewal, across technical buyers, executive sponsors, and procurement.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and reliable forecast.
What we’re looking for
- You’ve personally sold and closed full-cycle deals with large technology companies — from self-sourced pipeline through signature.
- You’ve sold technically complex products to technical buyers and can translate them into clear business value.
- A track record of consistently meeting or exceeding enterprise B2B SaaS quotas.
- Strong discovery, negotiation, stakeholder-management, and closing skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where process is still evolving, and willing to pursue promising opportunities regardless of account size.
- Experience with AI, vector databases, search, developer tools, or infrastructure platforms is a plus. Startup or scale-up experience is a plus, but not required.
Why join Vespa.ai
- Engage a large community of organizations already running open-source Vespa.
- Work directly with the engineers and product experts who build Vespa.
- Real ownership — you run your territory and the full customer relationship end to end.
Compensation and benefits
The expected base salary range for this position is $160,000–$200,000, with on-target earnings of $320,000–$400,000. The final offer will depend on relevant experience and demonstrated performance. Commission is uncapped.
Benefits include company-sponsored health insurance, paid time off, and eligibility for stock options.
