Job Title
Engineering SupervisorAs the Engineering Supervisor, you will develop and maintain the Engineering staff using working knowledge, product design, drafting and manufacturing Engineering principles. You will incorporate theories and concepts to improve and streamline internal Engineering processes and responsibilities.Role & Responsibilities:
• Supervise Engineering team members in a defined project environment, setting goals and directing career paths.
• Work with cross-functional groups to coordinate needs, issues, and expectations of engineering team.
• Help improve scrap and productivity through modifying existing materials, processes, or test procedures and managing through change control.
• Participate in identifying potential projects that support the business plan, develop project plans and ensure completion on time. Direct and coordinate the implementation of approved plans.
• Interface with production management and shop floor operations on full definition of product requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain official manufacturing engineering documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements. Responsible for providing Trade Compliance training to newly hired employees.
• Support Sales and Operations by incorporating customer requirements into our own technical documents (Drawings/Router/BOM’s) while answering all questions or concerns associated with them.
• Support Sales and Operations by developing cost estimates and setting cost controls.
• Work in conjunction with Sales personnel, interacting directly with customers in the development of new products and to communicate our company’s technology capabilities while providing solutions in response to customer request of current production issues.
• In collaboration with manufacturing, assesses corporate technology to identify opportunities for improvement, developing or revising current technology to obtain and implement process improvements.
• Responsible for auditing, revising, and establishing all Engineering related work instructions, procedures, and processes. Provide Trade Compliance training to newly hired Engineering employees.
• Participate in Technology Reviews, Quoting, Product Drawings, Routings, Contract Reviews, and ERP maintenance.
• Provide training/cross-training in Engineering equipment, software and process operations.
• Prepare and administer on-time delivery of employee performance reviews by effectively communicating work performance standards and setting realistic goals.
• Assist with hiring; interview and make recommendations on appropriate candidate(s) to fill vacancies.
• Enforce attendance and work rules uniformly and recommends when counseling or discipline is required.
• Responsible for ensuring all departmental employees are working and conducting themselves within all established rules, guidelines and legal requirements and takes immediate action to address/correct all behaviors not in compliance.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field preferred
• 6 years of experience in similar discipline.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing/machining techniques and associated tooling/fixture design.
• Thorough understanding of materials and characteristics including material formulations and shrink rates for multiple manufacturing product lines.
• Proficiency in specific job-related software such as CAD (SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD) or SPC programs.
• Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent listening skills necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and influence teams; prior people leadership experience preferred.
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
Target Hiring Range
Annual Salary: USD 103,040.00 - USD 136,013.00Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
