Engineering Manager - Partner Integrations

The Horizons team at Life360 is responsible for building the infrastructure that powers the experience for millions of families worldwide. We focus on creating resilient, scalable systems and services that enable seamless coordination for everyday life. The team plays a critical role in driving the technical strategy behind product offerings, platform infrastructure, and a comprehensive developer platform with both internal and external partners and developer ecosystems.

You’ll be leading a full stack software engineering team (mobile and cloud), building a platform focused on partner and 3rd party integrations, with a keen eye on scale, resilience, and flexibility. You thrive on the agility of a midsize public company that has demonstrated product leadership at consumer web scale. The role is focused on building a team and a platform focused on Partner and 3rd party integrations. While you are deeply technical and capable of rolling up your sleeves, you are also credible with engineers, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders. You can teach and learn from the best.

For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is $175k to $279k USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is $206k to $260k CAD. Note: Please be aware that the job title for positions in Canada will be "Developer" in lieu of "Engineer." We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. • Attract, grow, and promote top engineers
• Manage cross-functional teams of Android, iOS, and Cloud Engineers
• Oversee prioritization, definition, planning, and execution of projects
• Set ambitious objectives and key results, grounded in practical execution
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including senior engineers, product managers, and technical leaders, to align the team’s efforts with organizational goals.
• Work with stakeholders and leaders to ensure effective execution and communication
• Build a customer centric organization
• Effectively manage dependencies across multiple teams and organizations, influencing priorities to deliver aligned platform outcomes
• Mentor or manage other people leaders
• Build further upon a culture of technical and management excellence

• Strong technical roots in hands-on development of complex system software; depth being more important than breadth
• Manage cross-functional teams of Android, iOS, and Cloud Engineers
• Strong Background in building partner integrations capabilities
• Ability to engage with technical leaders designing distributed systems at scale
• Operated as a manager and/or engineer during periods of fast business growth
• 7+ years of progressive experience being directly employed to develop software in products being sold to consumers or their enterprise customers
• 5+ years of formal management experience including performance appraisals
• Detail orientation and informed bias-to-action
• Experience in managing remote first employees and teams
• Proficiency in Java, GO, Kotlin or Swift
• Proficiency in AWS or other public clouds
• Experience writing job descriptions
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
