Engineer Operations System - Virtualization Engineer

General Purpose of the Job

Working within the Infrastructure Services team, the Virtualization Engineer role focuses on the development, testing, and implementation of virtualization infrastructure and services. The Virtualization Engineer will contribute to the execution of design, architecture, implementation, integration, and processes to define the capabilities and understanding of what virtualized infrastructure and compute services can accomplish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, documentation, implementation, and delivery of virtual infrastructure. To include capacity, performance, availability, automated provisioning, and event management.

  • Collaborate closely with various technology teams to provide technical expertise to guide the utilization or integration of virtualization products and infrastructure.

  • Contribute to deliverables for engineering priorities as defined in the engineering roadmaps. Support the management of pilot or POC initiatives.

  • Active participation and contribution in engineering forums, new technology meetings, and steering committees.

  • Research and evaluate technology for appropriateness. Implement upgrade or migration strategies.

  • Contribute to technical and business-related discussions with stakeholders from various parts of the business. Use information gathered to develop and maintain an environment that addresses the business's needs using infrastructure solutions.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma required
  • 6-8 years experience in a virtualization focus

Salary/ Wage Range

$82,800.00 - $121,600.00 / year

If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position. New York Exempt: • New York City and Long Island: $64,350.00/year • Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $64,350.00/year • Remainder of New York state: $60,405.80/year New York Non-exempt: • New York City and Long Island: $16.50/hour • Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $16.50/hour • Remainder of New York state: $15.50/hour Washington Exempt: $77,968.80/year Washington Non-exempt: • Bellingham: $17.66/hour • Burien: $21.16/hour • Unincorporated King County: $20.29/hour • Renton: $20.90/hour • Seattle: $20.76/hour • Tukwila: $21.10/hour • Remainder of Washington state: $16.66/hour

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
