What You'll Do:
- Design and Develop Next-Gen Hardware: design of detailed circuit architectures for space-based electronic systems, focusing on performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Model, Simulate, and Analyze: Utilize modeling and simulation tools to bring your designs to life. Perform in-depth analyses, including worst-case circuit analysis, parts stress analysis, and signal integrity assessments to ensure your systems can withstand the harshest environments.
- Digital Design Expertise: Work with digital architectures, including FPGAs, microprocessors, and high-speed communication interfaces including XAUI, sRIO, PCIe, and SpaceWire. Develop digital filters and image processing algorithms that drive innovation.
- Analog and Mixed-Signal Mastery: Design and optimize analog and mixed-signal circuits, focusing on power supply electronics and general analog design. Your creativity will bring critical system components to life.
- Test and Validation: Create comprehensive test fixtures and plans to validate your designs at both chip and board levels. Develop reusable circuits that enhance efficiency across multiple projects.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including parts engineers, layout engineers, and systems engineers. Together, you'll define requirements, troubleshoot anomalies, and drive projects forward.
- Lead and Learn: Take on leadership roles in anomaly debugging, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Grow your skills and expertise in a dynamic environment.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Education and Experience
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Skills
- Modeling & Analysis: Familiarity with modeling, simulation, and comprehensive analysis, including worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA), parts stress analysis, reliability, signal integrity, and risk mitigation.
- Digital Design: Familiarity with FPGA and microprocessor architectures, digital filters, image processing, and high-speed SERDES protocols (XAUI, sRIO, PCIe, SpaceWire) for various sensor data processing.
- Analog Design: Familiarity with general analog, mixed-signal, and power supply electronic design.
- Testing & Validation: Ability to design and implement chip-level and board-level test fixtures and plans, including the development of reusable circuits.
- Laboratory Equipment: Hands-on experience with lab power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and logic analyzers.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Willingness to interface with Systems Engineers to define functional and performance requirements.
- Hardware Lifecycle: Ability to collaborate with Parts Engineers for EEE part selection/approval and work closely with packaging and layout engineers for printedwiring board (PWB) development.
- Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills.
