We are currently on the lookout for an Engineer – Data Engineering to join our team.
What you will be responsible for:
- The design and development of data solutions for one of the world’s largest corporations involved in the marketing and distribution of food products.
- Design, develop, and maintain Fabric/Power BI semantic models and Reports
- Maintain Financial Data warehouses
- Adhere to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery of solutions.
- Work collaboratively in a cross functional team in an Agile delivery environment.
- Adhere to DevOps principles and be involved in projects throughout their full software lifecycle: from development, QA, and deployment, to post-production support.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
What you need to have to apply for this position:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and 2-3 years of experience in developing enterprise grade data processing and Business intelligence applications.
- A strong programming background in Data ops and Business intelligence (Python, Shell, SQL).
- Hands on experience in building semantic models in Power BI and writing DAX.
- Hands on experience in working with relational/NoSQL databases and distributed storage engines (S3, Redshift, SQL Server Analysis Services , SQL Server DB).
- Hands on experience in ETL design and development using ETL tools (Apache Airflow, SSIS, Spark, Informatica).
- Hands on experience in Basic Linux administration.
- Experience in working with financial data (using tools such as SSAS, Excel-Pivots, Power BI).
- Experience in API development and user interfaces and related tools (C#, DotNet MVC) will be an added advantage.
- Working in a Scrum Agile delivery environment and DevOps practices.
- Experience in code management and CICD tools such as Github, Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
- Experience in an agile environment and aligning Pod members on technical vision and path to implementation.
- A strong desire to continue to grow your skillset.
- Strong communication skills that are influential and convincing.
