Job Summary

Responsible for the planning and designing of broadband communication systems. Designs systems and collaborates with vendors to determine project specifications. Inspects projects periodically to ensure adherence to project specifications. Prepares and maintains project documentation. Identifies new service areas and assists in resolving customer service complaints. Works with moderate supervision/guidance.
Please note: this position is 4 days in office, at one of the listed locations, and 1 day remote weekly

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Designs broadband communication systems using various design software packages. Produces layout designs for coaxial and fiber placement and fiber routing and connectivity. Verifies designs are in adherence to regional hybrid fiber coax (HFC) and EPON architecture and designs specifications.
  • Conducts analysis to determine efficiency, equipment economy, and systems operation simplicity.
  • Prepares prints, special maps, key maps, graphs, diagrams, and graphic drawings for use by other departments. Updates and maintains system maps, keys, and design files.
  • Processes HFC,EPON, SMB costing for small plant extensions and large network expansion projects.
  • Plans Coax/Fiber Networks (brownfield/greenfield)
  • Plans Fiber networks (EPON/MetroE).
  • Coordinates with construction, advanced engineering teams and sales as necessary.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Highly Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding in Construction and Design knowledge building process improvement and workflow efficiencies   
  • Data Analytics to tell the story
  • Building relationships with Government Affairs, Business Development, Construction, Design, Advanced Engineering and our National Team.
  • Basic exposure to present to Leadership teams.

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $69,822.72 - $104,734.08

This job can be performed in California, and Washington with a Pay Range of $66,648.96 - $119,016.00

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
