Reports to: CYC Director
Salary: $26.00-$30.00
Schedule: Some weekends required; minimum of 4 days/week

Laradon was founded in 1948 by Joseph and Elizabeth Calabrese back at a time where the public school system denied an education to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Fast forward 75 years later, we are now a diverse team of about 200 employees who deeply care for the work we do.  Our mission is to empower children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while aiming to be the premier provider serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  

Job Summary:  
As an Engagement Supervisor you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of Calabrese Youth Center, by ensuring the welfare and safety of residents, and providing the necessary assistance to increase independent living skills. In addition, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of residential counselors during their shift at the school. 

Essential Job Duties  

Supervisory 

  • In partnership with CYC leadership team, you will provide leadership and guidance to a team of residential counselors, including training, mentoring, and evaluating their performance.  

  • Training staff 

  • Communication with school leadership team for call outs, appointments, and schedule changes 

  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of new residential counselors.  

  • Assisting with coordinating schedules, preparing on-campus activities, and assigning outings for residents. 

  • Assisting with day to day operations including delegation of cleaning tasks 

  • Bridging communication between overnight staff and morning staff 

Direct Care  

  • Support children/youth in community for leisure, learning, and appointments. 

  • Respond to emergencies and crisis situations promptly and effectively. 

  • Oversee health and welfare of children/youth and report concerns and progress to Director/AD. 

  • Train, and assist as necessary, children/youth in shopping, cleaning, money management, hobbies, personal hygiene, etc. 

  • Provide direct care, supervision, and training services to children/youth. 
    Administrative  

  • Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, progress, and incidents. 

  • Ensure the completion passing of medication is smooth and timely.  

  • Ensure physical management reports are completed before end of shift.  

  • Other Duties as Assigned  

Minimum Requirements  

  • Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record  

  • At least 21 years of age  

  • Bachelors in Human Services or related field, or Two-years’ experience working with developmentally disabled youth with emotional/behavioral disorders.  

  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 or more pounds.  

  • One year experience of working in the Laradon school. 

  • At least 6 months experience working at the CYC.
