OverviewThe Endpoint Support Specialist serves as a subject matter expert and advisor on how Electric positions and manages MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions for our customers. This role bridges the gap between technical execution and scalable automation by providing deep expertise, guiding automation efforts in R&D, and supporting the Product team in defining effective endpoint solutions.
While not fully hands-on like a traditional MDM engineer, this individual will actively contribute to implementation and management efforts when automation is not yet available, ensuring continuity and operational efficiency. Once automation is in place, they will shift focus to optimization, knowledge sharing, and enablement.
This is a highly visible, cross-functional role that collaborates with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to drive high-impact projects. The position reports to the Manager of Product Support and will be responsible for:
What You’ll Do
Product & Engineering Collaboration: Work in partnership with Product and Engineering to optimize current MDM features and identify new ones that can be built at scale within the Electric product.
MDM Partner Collaboration: Collaborate with our MDM Partners (JumpCloud) to standardize our current MDM offerings for customers.
Process Development & Documentation: Develop and document scalable processes for how Electric implements these features for new and existing customers (SSO, Policy Groups, Application Provisioning, Automated Device Enrollment, iOS Enrollment, etc.), ensuring alignment with the Product roadmap and the product support team.
Resold Software Optimization: Optimize how Electric’s Resold Software Solutions (Malwarebytes, Perimeter 81, SIA, Keeper, etc.) are deployed through JumpCloud, ensuring alignment with the Product roadmap and the product support team.
Training & SME Support: Assist in training the Product Support team on troubleshooting MDM issues, acting as an SME for the Electric 2.0 business for anything MDM-related.
Escalation Point: Assist as an escalation point for MDM questions from customers, with the long-term goal of enabling Product Support specialists to service these requests in the future.
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years in MDM solution support or endpoint strategy.
Technical Skills:
Experience with JumpCloud MDM and endpoint management.
Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android endpoint solutions.
Experience deploying security and productivity software solutions through MDM platforms.
Familiarity with SSO, MDM Policies and Policy Groups, Application Provisioning, and Automated Device Enrollment.
Knowledge of Apple enterprise technology including DEP, VPP distribution methods, Apple Business Manager, APNS, iOS, MacOS, and profile management.
Understanding of single and multi-user staging configurations to support widespread deployment of devices and applications.
A foundational knowledge of information security related standards like PCI and GDPR.
Familiar with common source control systems (such as Git) for managing and versioning scripts is a plus.
Strong analytical skills, ability to work cross-functionally, excellent communication skills, and a growth mindset.
