Blue River Technology is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop embedded software and systems for our computer vision-enabled agricultural products, including the Bay Area’s highest density compute platform for robotics. Job Responsibilities
A combination, not necessarily all-inclusive, of the following:
- Develop, enhance, and debug new and existing robotics software, image processing stacks, and device drivers for impactful robotics computing in C/C++ within a Linux environment.
- Develop image signal processing algorithms and video pipelines within Blue River Technology’s See & Spray system.
- Understand and optimize image sensor settings, drivers, and processing for high-performance applications in challenging conditions.
- Optimize and understand the benefits of specific operations such as demosaicing, color correction, and tonemapping on image quality for both human and machine vision.
- Quantify and measure image signal processing software quality across varied conditions and scene compositions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex systems problems in a hands-on, dynamic environment.
- Build processing time-constrained algorithms and develop efficient implementations for edge and cloud applications.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience developing embedded software in Python and C/C++, including CUDA development.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on testing and continuous integration practices.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience in Linux kernel device driver development and tuning real-time applications for low latency.
- Experience using CNN models.
- Experience using V4L2 and OpenCV.
- Prior experience or coursework in Machine Learning, CVML, and ISP projects or research.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with agriculture technology, agronomy, or farming.

The US annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $218,000, along with eligibility for Blue River’s bonus and benefit programs.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
