Manage electrical projects from initiation to close: create plans, allocate resources, control budgets, enforce quality and safety, manage clients and subcontractors, report status, and archive documentation.
The Electrical Project Manager oversees all aspects of electrical projects within TEiC, ensuring successful execution from initiation to completion. Reporting to the ES Operation Manager, this role involves coordinating with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Project Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure resources are allocated effectively.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
- Identify potential risks and issues early in the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address project issues to minimize impact on schedule and budget.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior management as needed for resolution.
- Prepare and distribute project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Archive project documents and deliverables upon project completion for future reference.
Customer Focus:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage client expectations and address concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business and referrals.
Collaboration:
- Lead and motivate project team members, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to overcome challenges and achieve project milestones.
Financial Management:
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and billing to clients and vendors.
- Implement cost control measures to maximize project profitability.
Quality Control:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the project.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify adherence to quality requirements.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain project quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management, preferably in industrial construction.
- Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training (or equivalent) required prior to hire or within 30 days of onboarding.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to resolve issues and reach consensus among stakeholders.
