YOUR MISSION

True Anomaly is seeking an innovative Electrical Power Systems Engineering Manager to lead a small, agile team responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of spacecraft power subsystems, including power generation, energy storage, and power distribution. This role requires a mix of technical depth in spacecraft power systems, program execution, and team leadership. Reporting to the Director of Avionics, this role will encompass technical contribution and people management. The successful candidate will be an expert in EPS development, incorporating practical experience, best practices, and balanced technical judgement. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own technical direction for power architecture: solar arrays, batteries, distribution, and protection systems
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers developing spacecraft electrical power subsystems
  • Oversee end-to-end EPS lifecycle: requirements definition, design, analysis, budgets, trade studies, hardware procurement, integration, and test
  • Ensure spacecraft EPS meets mission reliability, efficiency, thermal, and radiation tolerance requirements
  • Manage schedules, budgets, staffing, and risk for the EPS scope across multiple spacecraft programs
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, avionics, propulsion, and mission assurance teams to ensure seamless spacecraft integration
  • Drive compliance with aerospace standards and participate in design reviews with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Communicate product development status and issues with leadership and stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8+ years of professional experience with spacecraft or high-reliability electrical power systems design
  • Strong technical background in solar arrays, battery technologies (Li-ion, LiFePO4), charge control, DC/DC converters, peak power tracking and power distribution
  • Experience with spacecraft power modeling, analysis, and fault management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex hardware on schedule
  • Understanding of radiation effects on power systems and mitigation techniques

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with analog and digital electrical design practices
  • Familiarity with lab test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, electrical loads, solar array simulators)
  • Experience designing, analyzing, and testing for EMI/EMC effects
  • Experience integrating and debugging system level interactions in a HIL/SIL environment
  • Knowledge and experience with power supply stability and analysis

COMPENSATION

  • California Base Salary: $160,000-$225,000
  • Colorado Base Salary: $155,000-$215,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
