About the Role

Riot Platforms is seeking an Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will be a foundational member contributing to the technical excellence of hyperscale data center electrical systems, actively supporting the development and refinement of standards, specifications, and approval frameworks that ensure uptime and reliability across our portfolio. You’ll play a critical role in reviewing and coordinating with internal stakeholders, external design teams, consultants, vendors, and contractors to deliver world-class electrical infrastructure optimized for AI/ML workloads and mission-critical operations.


As part of the technical conscience behind $100M+ projects, you’ll help ensure electrical designs meet Riot’s rigorous standards while advancing innovation in energy efficiency, sustainability, and modular construction. You will serve as a trusted technical contributor and resource for the team to support design reviews and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.


This position will be based in our Denver office. Relocation assistance available for non-local candidates. 


What You'll Do

  • Support Design Excellence:
    Review and assist in developing electrical drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure optimal system performance and uptime. Help prepare documentation for design reviews and approvals
  • Collaborate Across Teams:
    Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and contractors to align on design goals, technical requirements, and deliverables.
  • Drive Quality & Innovation:
    Support QA/QC processes, review submittals, and contribute to commissioning documentation to ensure every project meets our high standards.
  • Grow Your Technical Skills:
    Learn and apply key industry standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE), gain hands-on experience with electrical analysis tools and software, and participate in training and technical workshops.


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 4+ years of electrical engineering experience. Data center or mission-critical facilities experience is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Solid understanding of electrical design principles and power distribution systems.
    • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
    • Exposure to design and project tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Procore, or CX Alloy.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines


Compensation and Benefits 

  • Competitive Salary: $100K–$130K (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant.
