Company Overview
Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.
The Role
As an Electrical Engineer at Red 6, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced electronics for aerospace applications. You will work alongside experienced engineers to help create high-reliability printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) capable of withstanding harsh environments and compliant with relevant military standards.
You will assist in designing hardware that interfaces with aircraft mission systems and safety-critical systems, gaining hands-on experience throughout the product lifecycle — from schematic capture and PCB layout to prototyping, bring-up, and testing. You will be expected to follow established electrical engineering processes and contribute to maintaining quality and consistency in designs.
Responsibilities
Assist in the architecture, design, development, and integration of electronic hardware for aerospace AR systems.
Support schematic capture, component placement, and PCB layout.
Participate in prototyping, hardware bring-up, validation, and transition to production for custom CCAs/PCBAs.
Help conduct power and signal integrity simulations under guidance.
Contribute to design for rigid, flex, and rigid-flex board structures.
Support compliance efforts for environmental, EMC, and MIL-STD requirements.
Help maintain electrical engineering documentation and follow established processes.
Assist with design reviews, troubleshooting, and resolving design issues with senior engineers.
Work with vendors and manufacturing partners to support fabrication and assembly activities.
Perform testing and verification using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies).
