Electrical Engineer

Cherokee Strategic Solutions, LLC (CSS) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base. The Electrical Engineer provides electrical engineering support for facility and infrastructure projects, including planning, design review, cost estimating, field assessments, construction surveillance, and technical project coordination.

A Government contract requires that this position be filled by a person with legal United States residency and work authorization status. The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain installation and restricted-area access, including completion of required background checks and training.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for the Electrical Engineer: TBD

Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform electrical engineering planning and design support for new construction, renovation, improvement, utility, and real-property facility projects.

  • Develop, review, and provide recommendations on electrical design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, technical drawings, specifications, and Statements of Work.

  • Conduct technical reviews of contractor submittals, design packages, Requests for Information, material proposals, and change-order requests.

  • Support construction surveillance and field inspections to assess contractor compliance with approved specifications, schedules, codes, and safety requirements.

  • Conduct pre-construction site surveys and provide technical recommendations to help resolve field issues.

  • Support project programming, budgeting, cost-estimate development, project validation, and AFCAMP funding processes.

  • Support long-range infrastructure priorities, Sustainment Management System validation, and facility-condition assessments.

  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, architects, contracting officers, tenant organizations, and external construction agents.

  • Use CAD, GIS, and other Government-approved modeling tools to analyze technical data and support project decisions.

  • Participate in design charrettes and provide timely technical recommendations to project stakeholders.

  • Apply applicable federal, state, local, health, safety, environmental, and Department of the Air Force requirements.

  • Prepare monthly project-status information for the required Project Status Report.

 

Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • At least five years of relevant electrical engineering experience.

  • Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices related to facilities and infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil disciplines.

  • Knowledge of applicable engineering and construction standards, contracting regulations, health and safety requirements, and environmental laws.

  • Experience with project programming, budgeting, cost estimating, and financial-control systems.

  • Ability to prepare and review drawings, specifications, estimates, schedules, and Statements of Work.

  • Ability to plan, conduct, document, and analyze facility surveys and inspections.

  • Proficiency with standard office productivity tools; CAD, GIS, and engineering-modeling software experience is preferred.

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
