The Electrical Engineer role focuses on supporting avionics production through design, development, and troubleshooting of Automated Test Equipment and related systems, emphasizing technical communication and continuous improvement.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our depot-level avionics team. This role is critical to national defense, focusing on the design, development, and life-cycle support of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and Test Program Sets (TPS).
The successful candidate will provide direct engineering support to our production floor, ensuring our avionic systems are diagnosed, certified, and maintained to the highest standards of excellence as specified by official Technical Orders (TOs).
Key Responsibilities
Production Support: Actively engage with depot technicians, supervisors, and other support engineers on a daily basis to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production test issues in real-time, ensuring minimal disruption to the repair and certification workflow.
System Triage: Lead the diagnosis of complex test failures by collaborating with hardware and systems engineers to determine if the root cause lies in the Unit Under Test (UUT), the ATE, the Interface Test Adapter (ITA), or the TPS software.
Technical Communication: Translate complex technical failures into understandable terms for technicians and provide detailed analysis for fellow engineers. This includes providing clear workarounds for the production floor and conducting detailed technical briefings for engineering peers.
Continuous Improvement: Document recurring production issues and use that data to drive permanent improvements in the TPS software, ATE hardware, or test procedures to enhance reliability and reduce future downtime.
Documentation: Author and maintain critical documents, including the Test Requirements Document (TRD), Test Design Document (TDD), and TPS Validation/Verification Procedures, ensuring all documentation is traceable to source Technical Orders.
