The Boeing Company is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the  AvionX Power and Embedded Controls Team in Huntsville, Alabama. 

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including : Mid-Level and Senior Electrical Design Engineer.

Our team in Huntsville develop Electronic Designs, build, test and deliver Electronic/Electrical products and provide Engineering solutions for a variety of the company's government and commercial programs across the world, including commercial and government avionics, space exploration, and multiple military programs.  The team is responsible for Electrical / Electronic Hardware, Test Equipment, Avionics, Smart Battery System and Wire Harness Design.

 This position will focus on working with a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined team of engineers in the execution of complex technical hardware and firmware development of avionics products in accordance with both commercial and defense customer requirements, business objectives, and Boeing processes all in support of the Boeing Technology Innovation (BTI) business organization.

 

Position Responsibilities

  •  Analyzes customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products. 
  • Develops high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.
  • Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis.
  • Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Supports Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope.
  • Provides engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Works under general direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3 years of experience with technical development of commercial airplane, space or defense systems
  • 3 years of experience work on aerospace hardware/software design projects
  • Proficient use of Mentor Graphics or comparable PWB/PWA schematic capture, layout and routing tools
  • Active or ability to obtain US Security Clearance post start

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Knowledgeable of Engineering processes and tools required to complete requirements development, hardware integration, verification, certification, leading into production and support services.
  • Familiar with hardware and software development tools, processes and standards.
  • Experience in EE analysis Tools.
  • Experience with Lithium Ion Battery Technology, FPGA Design and Power System Design.
