JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This role is integral to fostering a safe and compliant workplace, managing workers’ compensation claims, and ensuring robust training and communication across departments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in program development, Workers' Compensation claim management, and training content creation, along with strong collaboration skills to work with Learning & Development (L&D), Human Resources (HR), Legal, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Design, implement, and refine EHS programs to promote safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship. Ensure alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Workers’ Compensation Claims: Manage and investigate workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting, thorough investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions while liaising with legal counsel and risk management teams as needed.

  • Facility Inspections: Conduct and review regular facility inspections to identify risks and trends, and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Develop corrective actions and follow up to ensure completion.

  • Training and Development: Create engaging EHS training materials tailored to specific audiences, ensuring employee awareness of policies, procedures, and best practices. Partner with Learning & Development to deliver effective training programs.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, Legal, Operations, and L&D to address EHS-related matters, communicate program updates, and ensure integration of EHS initiatives across the organization.

  • Compliance and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, and prepare reports and various federal, state, and local permits to ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in EHS roles, particularly in program development, workers’ compensation claim management, and training content creation.

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, and familiarity with digital safety and environmental management systems.

  • Ability to build effective relationships across departments and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, project management, and data analysis tools preferred

  • Certification(s) in EHS-related areas (e.g., ASP, CSP, GSP) preferred.

Compensation Range:

$7.25 - $137,100.00

Compensation Frequency:

Annual

Base pay offered may vary depending on actual location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Supplemental pay types may include commissions or bonus incentives, depending on the role.
