Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking an eDiscovery Analyst to join our Global Legal Organization. This is a remote role available in all states within the United States. While specific cities are listed in the Locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application. We invite candidates from any location to apply.
 

The eDiscovery Analyst (“Analyst”), a member of the Global Legal Organization, will report to the Senior Manager, eDiscovery Information Governance & Legal Hold.  The Analyst will support system, analytical, and business process execution for the eDiscovery Information Governance (IG) and Legal Hold (LH) programs.  Specific responsibilities include data gathering, analysis and generating custom reports; system testing and validation; developing, coordinating, and executing processes; and maintaining eDiscovery budgets and documentation.   The position involves routine engagement with eDiscovery Leadership, attorneys, paralegals, records management professionals, external contractors, vendors, and information technology associates.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support execution and continuous program improvement of eDiscovery program activities and processes in a manner that emphasizes an efficient and client-centric approach and maintains the privileged and confidential nature of processes, documentation and communications.
  • Review and respond to application owner, records manager, and case team legal hold inquiries; perform legal hold keyword searches and report results to eDiscovery team members
  • Research and compile data analyses and support reporting and updates to a custom reporting module
  • Partner with eDiscovery Leadership and IT to  identify and timely report Asset Management system issues; suggest new automation/system enhancements; lead calls with support team to ensure timely issue resolution and/or enhancement requests; perform user acceptance testing (UAT) of new feature rollouts
  • Execute internal recurring processes, including activities to timely issue legal hold notifications, issuance of bi-annual reminders and updates to legal hold documentation and notifications, timely escalate issues to eDiscovery leadership.
  • Support maintenance and enhancement of existing eDiscovery program documentation and SharePoint sites
  • Support identifying non-custodial data sources (NCDS) for related matters with legal hold(s)
  • Maintain inventories of NCDS (i.e., Applications, Websites, Social Media)
  • Track and report regularly on eDiscovery team metrics, including supporting development of tools to automate tracking and reporting activities
  • Monitor, track and report to eDiscovery leadership budget-to-actuals for eDiscovery team budgets
  • Coordinate with eDiscovery leadership and vendors to send and collect data from quarterly and annual data surveys to report on the matter spend and data portfolio
  • Support tracking and documentation of vendors Statements of Work (SOW) on eDiscovery SharePoint site
  • Tracks matters supported by the eDiscovery team, as well as vendor tracking and issue logs
  • Supports internal processes for high-level custodians and departing custodian tracking
  • Prepare and deliver presentations that include custom data analysis, graphs, charts, and other methods to summarize and present data
  • Analyze data, and generate custom reports using MS Excel to report, leverage data learnings to propose operational solutions for management
  • Design and implement process efficiencies via automation and available technologies (Microsoft Flow/Automate, Excel macros/VBA, Excel formulas, etc.)
  • Maintain company confidentiality including confidentiality of company processes & protocols
     

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; preferably with an emphasis on business, legal, and/or Information Technology.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working within a corporate law department, law firm, legal hold software or litigation technology company, or within a corporate setting is preferred.
  • Requires strong data analytics experience to successfully organize, analyze, and interpret data to identify opportunities and influence business operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel is required.
  • Experience with pivot tables, writing/managing formulas, and understanding of macros/VBA is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with reporting tools like Tableau and Cognos is a plus.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience is a plus.
  • Ability to readily adapt to innovative technologies and processes is required.
  • Experience in creating and making presentations (including summarizing large data analysis) is preferred.
  • Must be a solution-oriented professional with a focus on collaboration; must utilize positive communication and employ diplomatic client facing skills.
  • Organizational, project management, and written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work in a highly matrixed environment
  • Travel of up to 5% of time may be required depending on business need.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$63,000-$102,350
