The Just Markets Institute is a 501(c)3 educational non-profit founded in 2024 by Alex Thompson to teach economics with a focus on sustainability, equitability, and efficiency. We believe a general economics education has the highest return on investment to help people solve many of the world's most critical collective action problems, such as climate change, disease prevention, poverty, war, hunger, and many more national and local issues such as corruption, homelessness, and crime.
About our 2025 Spring Student Internship ProgramJust Markets Institute's internship program is designed to give students an opportunity to show off their abilities in a public manner while helping make the world a better place! JMI Student Internships are entirely project based to match the requirements of your spring internship course. Each intern will be matched with a volunteer mentor who will provide guidance throughout their internship and potentially beyond.
JMI’s Educational TeamThe Educational Team is made up of seven interns to cover each of our six categories (Environmental Economics, Industrial Organization, Time Economics, Game Theory, Development Economics, and Economic Anthropology) and an Education Intern to provide assistance. These interns, in partnership with their mentors and JMI staff/members, will create introductory courses for each topic.
