POSITION SUMMARY

Paramount Field Services is seeking a Due Diligence Landman to join our land team on a full time, independent contractor basis. This role is responsible for researching and verifying leasehold and mineral ownership on behalf of our clients, identifying title defects, and compiling accurate due diligence reports that support acquisition and divestiture decisions. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, self directed, and comfortable working courthouse records, online platforms, and title runsheets across multiple basins.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough due diligence review of leasehold and mineral title, including chain of title, working interest, and net revenue interest verification.
  • Examine county courthouse records, both in person and online, to confirm ownership, liens, judgments, and other title matters.
  • Prepare detailed runsheets and due diligence reports summarizing findings for client review.
  • Identify and document title defects, gaps, and curative needs, and communicate findings clearly to project leads and clients.
  • Review division orders, leases, assignments, and other conveyance instruments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify HBP status and evaluate lease terms including primary term, royalty, and Pugh clause provisions.
  • Cross reference GIS mapping and county plat data to confirm tract boundaries and acreage.
  • Maintain organized, accurate project files and status trackers throughout the diligence process.
  • Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy under time sensitive acquisition timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with the project lead regarding progress, discrepancies, and any issues requiring escalation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience performing due diligence or title work as a landman.
  • Strong working knowledge of chain of title research, courthouse records, and title runsheet preparation.
  • Familiarity with leasehold and mineral ownership concepts, including HBP determinations and curative requirements.
  • Proficiency with title research platforms and county recording websites.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and organized due diligence reports.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation for courthouse and field visits as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • RPL, RL, or CPL certification through AAPL.
  • Experience across multiple basins, including the Permian, Anadarko, or Ark La Tex.
  • Prior experience supporting large scale acquisition or divestiture due diligence projects.
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping software and county plat systems.

ENGAGEMENT DETAILS

This is a full time, independent contractor position. The Due Diligence Landman will be engaged on a 1099 basis and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment unless otherwise specified by the project scope. Project assignments and duration will be communicated by the Land Manager or Project Lead.
